Do You Live in an Upper Floor Apartment?

A good friend of mine loved her third floor apartment in a charming, historic San Francisco apartment building, even if it didn't have a reliable working elevator. Then she had a baby, and hauling her bouncing baby boy, groceries, and a stroller up three flights of stairs lost its charm. She's since moved into another upper floor apartment in another building — this one with a modern, efficient elevator. Do you live on an upper level as well?

Its bad not having an elevator to a third floor? Most apartments that have 5 floors or less don't even have elevators. I live on the third floor and I could never imagine taking an elevator up to my floor. That just seems so lazy.

i live on the 2nd floor, but of a 23 floor high rise in manhattan, so i guess technically it would count as a lower floor.

The first floor is statistically more likely to get robbed before any other floor. Plus I live in an area where if you live on an upper floor apartment you get a balcony, if you live on the first floor you get a sliding glass door (easily broken into btw) that leads out to nothing private.

I used to live on the 4th floor (no stairs). After that, I was committed to the first floor. Luckily the neighbors upstairs are respectful and I rarely hear them walking around.
