Roundup: Tray Tables

Last week, I showed you a variety of trays, and told you how useful they can be in helping to organize your life — especially in the entry. Another great organizational piece that I adore also incorporates trays: tray tables. Now, these tables are definitely a distant cousin to the TV tray tables you might remember from your childhood. And while many of them still fold up for easy storage, they're much sleeker and prettier than those tables your grandmother might've pulled out and set in front of the television to allow you to watch cartoons while eating your breakfast cereal.

Tray tables are great for a variety of purposes in your home. Use them for serving cocktails at house parties, or set one up next to the bed in a guest room.

If you love the idea and look of tray tables, but don't want to invest more than a benjamin on this piece, check out the Ikea Trollsta Tray Table ($100). The base is constructed of solid birch, while the tray is pigmented, powder coated steel. I love the turned legs of the base and the sleek black shade of this piece. It looks a lot more luxe than many Ikea products, and I actually did a double take when I saw it in the store.
