This bedroom strikes me as a perfect refuge from the busy, modern world. Form the muted color palette to the restrained use of furniture and accents, it breathes serenity.
To get the look, you'll need to start with the right color palette. Paint your walls and floors Benjamin Moore's Pleasant Valley 696. Make sure to use the Natura line, since it uses zero VOCs and is also really easy to apply. I didn't even have to use a primer when taking my walls from a darker blue to a more toned-down gray with the Natura line. Use an eggshell for the walls and semi-gloss for the floors.
Next, go for the big ticket item: that gorgeous upholstered bed. To learn where to find a similar one, and to get the rest of the room's look, read more.
Unfortunately, you're going to have to most likely pay big bucks for a similar bed. I found this Louis XV Upholstered Bed ($4,500) on 1stDibs, but you can also find similar ones on eBay for at least $1,000 less. You might get really lucky and find a deal at a flea market or antique store, so shop around! Reupholster your find in a striking gray velvet.
Next, either paint a freehand botanical mural on a portion of your wall, or pick up a stencil that will create the same effect. For the rest of the look, check out the widget below.
