Even if you haven't been hiking in the woods lately, you still may have noticed that birch bark is everywhere. That's right, the tree recognized for its long, horizontal pores and papery thin plates is a growing trend in the shelter world these days. Natural birch bark has been used to fashion vases, lamps, and tables. Its distinct pattern has been printed on wallpaper, decals, curtains, stencils, and even rugs. And, both the texture and form of birch trees have been reinterpreted in polished aluminum. Two TeamSugar members, romaniagrl and ProperGray have also welcomed birch into their homes. Birch trees do have such a delicate appeal, so I am delighted to see them making their way into the home with a modern, not-so-rustic look. Want to get in on the trend?
