Useful or Useless? ReadiVac 39454 PowerPan Cordless Dustpan

This dustpan ($12.50) has a built-in cordless vacuum, and apparently removes the line of dust that brooms leave behind. Granted, I've been annoyed by that line of dust many a time, but I don't know if I'd want another battery-operated device in my home simply for removing a small line of dust. Doesn't a damp towel do the trick just as well?

i know a damp towel does the trick, but i get SO MAD when i try to sweep up that little line of dust. i seriously don't know what it is about it, but it makes me darn near enraged i get so frustrated! haha, so this might save my blood pressure. i like!

I probably wouldn't buy it but it could come in handy for someone else, I'm sure.

Wow, an even split. I voted useless. Use a damp towel, like Casa suggests. Or just sweep it back under the rug and get it next time.

am i the only person who thinks that this is genius?! if you have hard wood floors you sweep them up and you have a pile of dust and dirt, then you have to get out your dust pan and whisk broom to get rid of your pile(you never get it all you always end up with that line of dust) this thing would just suck it all up!!! i am going to buy this right now.

I just use a sweeper vac. It vacuums as you sweep.

If it really works, it's cool. But I can perfectly imagine it being a piece of crap that doesn't vacuum hard enough to get rid of that line of dust

Even if someone gave this to me, I'd probably still do it the way my mom taught me: turn the dustpan 90 degrees, brush the line in, turn it back, brush it in again... After just a few quick additional swipes, you're down to a small speck anyway, less than the small cordless vacs I've used seem to leave behind.
