I have an issue with Valentine's Day. Well not an issue with the actual holiday, but with the colors associated with the holiday. I find the traditional color combo of red, white and pink is hard to work with. First, I think the color combo doesn't read well in most homes today because it comes off a bit "costume-like." Second, the color red isn't that complementary to most foods.
I found my inspiration in a steno pad and a chocolate bar (hey — I love chocolate and note taking!) and settled on a color palette of amber, soft pinks, and chocolate brown. What I ended up with is a table setting for two that is intimate and warm with decidedly modern feminine touches . . .
