Where to Hang Window Treatments

Assisted Living: Where to Hang Window Treatments?

Here's a query from CasaSugar Community member Seefree from the Assisted Living group:

"My son's room has a huge window on one wall, with a half-moon window above it. Do I hang the drapes above the top of the curve, or in the small space between windows? The blinds will stay, and the drapes will only close at night. It's a lovely window, so I want to frame it in a way to give it maximum impact."

Continue reading to see my suggestion for Seefree.

Hi Seefree,

You definitely should hang your curtain rod above the half-moon. I would recommend about four or five inches above. If your ceilings aren't too high, you can also hang the curtain rod up near the crown molding at the top of the wall. This photo should give you an idea.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Casa

Ha! Yes! It's a stuffed-animal snake from the zoo. I told you guys it was my son's room! :) He's getting ready to get a surprise big-guy makeover, that's why I'm asking. Thanks!!!
