Would You Hang This In Your Home?

Who might appreciate this precious art asset? Perhaps Sir Mix-A-Lot? He is a fan of both music and fannies. No matter where you hung this untitled wax sculpture by artist Robert Gober (up for auction at Sotheby's in New York in two weeks), you know it would spark some conversation. I'm just not sure if it's the type of conversation you'd necessarily want to engage in.

It would be a gas in a museum, but I would be aghast if it were in my home.

I would prefer it without the music notes on it.

As art, yes As decor, no Robert Gober's work is very witty and eclectic, often dealing with domesticity, sexuality and Duchamp. He has (or had) a room at the SFMoma, it was painted to look like the outdoors, with a window, a few sinks and some stacks of newspapers. (just mentioning for context's sake) Whether you like it or not, is not the point. Nor if you think it is or it isn't "art". But this was never something created to match a sofa and fit in with a color scheme.

No. Way. I'm all for "different" however this is too much, too "quirky". Though this is better than if he chose a frontal design.
