Would You Like to Live in a Gingerbread House?

This Victorian home in Bouldin Creek, TX, one of Austin's oldest neighborhoods, is what you might call a gingerbread house: dripping with candylike ornate moldings and a very decorative picket fence, its style is straight out of a fairytale book. I love it, and I'd kill to live in it. That gorgeous front porch alone had me sold! But architecture this elaborate certainly doesn't please everyone's tastes. How about you?

I LOVE Victorian style homes but I'm not crazy about that fence.

No. I prefer a good Victorian. Also, I identify with EverSoClever. I would only consider that type of home if it was retrofitted.

I did...I'm over it! Give me level floors, adequate insulation and modern wiring anyday.

That's rather plain for a gingerbread house...

I currently live in a house that's considered an Ontario Cottage (Regency style mixed with Gothic) and it has a bit of gingerbread moldings and all.

I would love one! I'd just be worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up the garden, this kind of house needs a beautiful garden and I am sort of a plant killer.

No. If I lived in a gingerbread house, I'd end up eating it...then I wouldn't have anywhere to live. Oh, it's not a real gingerbread house? I'd still try to eat it!!

Gorgeous. It like old and fancy... and on the other hand I like super sleek and modern as well. LOL. I guess I like both ends of the spectrum just not anything in between!
