After last year's abridged version of the Globes, everyone seemed excited to go back to the traditional show with all the Hollywood glamour and exciting speeches. Jennifer Lopez kicked off the show in her gold revealing gown where she handed out the first award to last night's real star — Kate Winslet. The actress scored a double win at the beginning and the end of the show and her heartfelt loving thank yous to both Leo and her husband were a highlight. So was when she forgot someone in particular in her category — Kate recovered and gave Angelina a shout out as well, but phew, we got a little worried when she asked, "Who's the other one?" Bruce Springsteen joked that he has and never will be in the same category as Clint Eastwood again. Chris Nolan accepted Heath Ledger's posthumous win to a standing ovation from the whole room. Johnny Depp made a quick appearance to present Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy to Sally Hawkins. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie didn't take home any trophies but looked just fine cuddling up and kissing throughout the ceremony.

The 30 Rock crew got big laughs most of the night. Some of Alec's jokes fell flat but we're happy he scored an award and even happier loose cannon Tracey Morgan was allowed to accept the award for the show. Mad Men got to celebrate for real this year with their trophy for Best Dramatic Series. Colin Farrell was happy and surprised to win an award though he sniffed and made a not-so-appropriate coke joke. That still went over better than Sacha Baron Cohen, who was booed by the audience when he joked that because of the recession Madonna had to let go of her personal assistant Guy Ritchie. Spielberg getting the Cecile B. Demille award reminded us so much of why we love the movies especially what he has created. Mickey Rourke won Best Dramatic Actor but his acceptance speech was a little too colorful for the censors. Slumdog Millionaire and Vicky Cristina Barcelona were the big winners of the night and everyone enjoyed celebrating at one of our favorite award shows of the season.

Victoria Beckham and her trio of boys took full advantage of their trip to Rome before they were spotted at Heathrow on their way home Saturday night. Posh made sure to document their vacation, adding more adorable photos to their collection while touring the Colosseum. David didn't have his favorite fans out to watch his Milan team tie with Roma on Sunday but we're sure his family will have another chance to cheer from the stands at one of his international games before we know it.

The Art of Elysium gala proved that the Golden Globes wasn't the only red carpet full of glammed up celebrities this weekend. The non-profit organization hosted their annual star-studded fete in LA on Saturday and Eva Mendes was the honorary guest being recognized for her charity work. Courteney Cox looked lovely in her white dress with David Arquette by her side. The night before he hosted a different charity event, which also included good friends Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer who continued participating in good deeds all weekend long. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden looked happy to pose together, taking a night off from playing with Harlow and Kirsten Dunst and Kate Bosworth both struck a pose to show off their floor-length fashion. This event was a warm-up for some of the celebs like Eva Mendes who glowed in her gorgeous Dior gown, which was also her designer of choice the following night.

Lindsay Lohan was rolling solo this weekend stopping by her lawyers' office before attending a CAA party at the Buffalo Club on Friday night. Lindsay hasn't made any comments on her relationship status since blogging about her non-breakup but Samantha still seems to be taking a break from Lindsay's frantic lifestyle. This weekend she was writing about the "head games" that the paparazzi and media play with her saying "everyone plays games, but it gets to the point sometimes when you just want to know why.." Lindsay has been keeping people guessing these days hanging out with Sean Penn instead of Samantha, but LL said she'd be the first to talk if they split so we'll wait to hear it from the source.

Kate Winslet got a kiss from her husband and director Sam Mendes as she celebrated her Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards at the Golden Globes. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin goofed around with their 30 Rock costars though it was Tracy Morgan who stole the show with his acceptance speech. The Mad Men cast all stood together and many other stars that won, as well as presenters, posed and looked gorgeous in the happy press room.

The night's biggest winner was Slumdog Millionaire, which the cast, producer, director and writers humbly accepted. Lots of other celebrities took home the gold — check out the full list of winners here. Steven Spielberg was honored with the impressive Cecile B. DeMille award, where he talked about the value of having a mentor in the industry. Anyone who has Spielberg as a mentor is one lucky aspiring director and last night he joined the elite ranks of previous winners.
