Last night at the People's Choice Awards the fans picked Adam, Reese, Robin, Carrie, Ellen, The Dark Knight and more. The stars thanked the fans since if it wasn't for them, well, they wouldn't have that heavy award. Ellen thanked her roommate Portia, and Reese was thrilled with how her year was starting. Dakota Fanning continues to glow as she grows so perfectly. Kate Hudson was late but she made it in time to pick up her Favorite Leading Lady Award and in her quirky speech she thanked birthday boy Ryder. Unfortunately big winners like Brad and Angelina skipped the show and somehow Two and a Half Men still wins stuff. The big winner of the night was The Dark Knight with 5 out of 5 including favorite action movie, cast and movie! Brad Pitt who thankfully grew his mustache into a full goatee, was spotted riding around LA yesterday on one of his many motorcycles. In his W Magazine cover interview, Brad refers to the time when he's on his bikes as his most anonymous calling himself, “just another a--hole on the streets,” but it was his comments about Angelina and Jennifer that caught everyone's attention yesterday. He played it well, though of course there's a million ways to dissect his words, so we'll see whether he and Angelina have any uncomfortable moments sprung on them at tonight's Critics' Choice Awards or Sunday's Golden Globes. Just think, one year ago at tonight's awards we started to speculate about whether or not Angelina was pregnant and today's another big one — it's Zahara's 4th Birthday! Hopefully she gets some good celebrating in before mom and dad are off to hit the red carpet this evening.

It was all about the ladies on the red carpet at last night's People's Choice Awards in LA. Queen Latifah sparkled in purple as the host of the show, yet again, while Debra Messing kept it a little more geometric. Paris Hilton was a nominee this time around for her first presidential video, though she lost in the online sensation category to Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. Dakota Fanning stood out in her blue one shoulder dress, once again looking perfectly pretty and age appropriate among her older counterparts. She is quite the little lady these days. Some of the bigger names skipped the red carpet and still graced the stage to accept awards, more on that in a bit. Amy Winehouse's lengthy vacation escaped the court-related expiration date as she dropped her appeal in Norway agreeing instead to pay the fine. It's a good thing, too, since it looks like she has some more interesting fashion choices to show us including this sports bra and jean shorts combo yesterday in St. Lucia. She was without her new male companion this time, but the rugby player and aspiring actor is already milking his 15 minutes talking to the press about how lovely Amy is, while of course purporting to be protecting her privacy. He still seems like a huge upgrade from Blake and she's looking more and more healthy every day. Caribbean life is agreeing with Amy so it's no wonder she doesn't seem to want to trade her bikini photo shoots for London Winter weather just yet.

Nicole Richie headed out solo to a meeting yesterday, a new mid-week activity after we've gotten so used to seeing her Wednesday afternoons at traffic school. She's got lots of business to attend to, between her design and charity projects, but one thing she can cross off the list is her rumored appearance on Gossip Girl since her rep just denied the story. We still think it would be a perfect spot for former real life mean girl Nicole to teach our favorite Upper East Siders a thing or two.
