Paris Hilton and Brittany Flickinger continued their tour of Sydney last night with dinner after a long day of shopping before hitting the beach and getting all dressed up for tonight's New Years eve party. Paris managed to surprise and even offend some locals by spending the equivalent of $100 a minute, but the Deputy Prime Minister was quick to step in and declare it a good thing. Who knows why actual politicians were drawn into the minor controversy, but hey. Paris, her new BFF and Nicky are already partying their way into 2009 and maybe on Paris's list of New Year's Resolutions should be to not star in the worst movie of the year again.

Kanye West seemed to be in good spirits out in LA after a meal at yummy Houston's this week. It's been a rough year for Kanye and the paparazzi with two different incidents where it turned violent, but maybe he's turning over a new leaf for 2009. One thing we won't be doing is seeing Mr. West out partying anywhere tonight — according to his blog, he's staying in on New Year's Eve for the first time in five years to enjoy a little down time instead. Considering this hard worker says he never takes vacation, he must be pretty beat to take a break after a marathon 2008.

Lindsay Lohan enjoyed a relaxing pre New Year's Eve bash morning on the beach in Miami today. She hung out with her younger brother Michael and some friends while soaking in the Florida sun. Lindsay didn't have her usual bikini sidekick Samantha with her this time, but Miss Ronson might need a little more R&R before they are out all night partying. All year round celebrities find their excuses to bikini it up, but this looks like the perfect way to gear up for a big night.
