Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hit the beach in Hawaii yesterday to soak up some of those pre-New Year's rays. The new mom looked absolutely fantastic in her little red bikini. The duo spent some time there last year where Nicole showed off her pregnant belly in a green bikini, and now it's time to introduce Harlow to one of their favorite spots. They were also joined by Benji, who seems like a welcome third wheel these days. Nicole tried out paddle surfing and kayaking but didn't seem to last long exercising and who can blame her when there's so much beach lounging to be done.

Paris Hilton and her sister Nicky touched down in Melbourne on Monday after spending some time bundled up in Aspen with their family. The girls are in Australia to celebrate NYE together for the second year in a row with a big bash Paris is hosting in Sydney. This year, Nicky's got her man David Katzenberg by her side, while Paris is keeping company with her new sidekick Brittany Flickinger. The three girls spent yesterday shopping and hitting a spa before heading out to dinner, probably getting everything in order before their official duties commence tomorrow night.

The singer had an amazing year bursting onto the scene with "I Kissed a Girl" and it looks like all those hours dancing on stage have paid off in more ways than one. She was down in Mexico for Christmas with her boyfriend, musician and godfather to Bronx, Travis McCoy, living the good life sipping on beers and reading some trashy literature like Madonna's unauthorized biography written by her brother. Christian Bale took a solo walk around Brentwood earlier this week looking like a regular guy in some badass shades. It was quite the year for Batman as The Dark Knight took the world by storm, but it also had its share of lows as well including the controversy with his mother and sister over the Summer. 2009 will bring Bale back onto the scene when he takes Terminator: Salvation around the world only we'll have to wait and see if his newest blockbuster will be as beloved as his last one.
