We've been hearing a lot of Britney's side of the story recently — between her documentary and numerous magazine covers, we have new insight into her life, including her split from Kevin Federline. Now, Kevin decided to open up a little about what it's all been like for him, from falling in love to watching Britney break down last January to her big comeback year. Here are some highlights from his interview:
- On his divorce: "It's hard enough to be in a marriage, and then have a kid, then kids, it changes everything. For me, I'd become more concerned with my children. Not that I ignored Britney, but my kids are always most important . . . I mean, we were having complications. I didn't give her an ultimatum, but I was trying to work stuff out with her, and she didn't even talk to me or anything and went behind my back and filed [for divorce]. [I was] completely blindsided."
- On custody of his kids: "My first question to [my lawyer] was, "Am I ever going to be able to see my children?" I told him that I would spend every last dime that I had to make sure that my children are okay. That's all that mattered. I didn't know how much power Britney had. That really scared me."
- On Britney's hospitalization: "That whole night is a blur. You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her 'cause I care about her. That's the mother of my children. Just because I'm not in love with her doesn't mean that I don't love her. I'm definitely rooting for her. There's nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do."
- On her improvement: "Oh, man, it's totally turning around. It works out that [the kids] get to see her. There's structure over there, there's structure at my house. We're trying to keep the same type of schedule. It doesn't have to be completely perfect, but the foundation is there."
Despite the bad reputation Kevin has, he seems genuinely supportive of what she's going through and like he's working hard to be the stable father Britney wants for their kids. As long as he's not trying to revive his rap career, it sounds like Kevin could have earned that Father of the Year trophy.
Matt Damon spent his Thanksgiving in the states serving food to the needy like his BFF Ben, but yesterday he was back to work overseas. He was all bundled up to face the cold in London on the set of Green Zone. Matt's charitable efforts weren't left behind in the states though — he's one of the many celebrities signing a bowl to be put up for auction at Clothes off our Back's 'Fill a Bowl, Feed America' campaign. Matt might have to spend part of the holiday season on the set, but clearly the spirit of giving is still very much on his mind.

Britney Spears let it almost all hang out last night as she entered Tenjune to celebrate her 27th birthday after an eventful morning. The singer started her day singing on GMA and then had time with her family before getting dolled up to party with friends including Lance Bass. Britney also taped her part of the NBC tree lighting ceremony in Rockefeller Center last night but she covered up to keep warm from the chilly temperatures. She may have recently talked about being sad and trapped but it looks like her smile is back and hopefully high album sales will follow.
