Ashlee Simpson made her first post-baby debut Monday night and was out again yesterday for Pete Wentz's "Without You I'm Just Me" art gallery opening in LA. Ashlee's whole family joined in on the fun, including Jessica matching her sister in stripes. Nicole Richie seems to travel with both Madden boys these days, and hopefully she and Joel can pass on some tips to their friends Ashlee and Pete on being a new parent. Pete must be proud of his original artwork with Travis McCoy but especially happy to have all of his friends and family come to support him.

Reese Witherspoon may be raising LA kids, but she's not letting them miss out on the glory of Winter starting with a trip to the ice-skating rink in Santa Monica yesterday. Ava was all dressed up in her Christmas-y skating outfit ready to hit the ice while Deacon kept things a little more low key in a hoodie. The holidays are bringing a lot of cheer to this family with Reese's Four Christmases reigning one more week at the box office. Looks like Reese planned the perfect afternoon out for her kids and she's got another event to prepare for — next week she's throwing Jake Gyllenhaal a 28th birthday party when he takes a short break from shooting in London to celebrate.

The neutral tones make Brad Pitt's blue eyes stand out, along with the mustache of course, on the cover of this week's Rolling Stone. His work in Benjamin Button brings Angelina Jolie nothing but pride, but your pick for hardest working of 2008 already lined up his next project playing a British spy in The Lost City of Z. In the meantime, Brad spoke to the magazine about his dreams for the future, Proposition 8, and his kids. Here's more:

- On his children: "They're so beyond me in technology, it's hard to keep up. Our seven-year-old was searching the word 'weapons' on Google the other day and ended up on some white-supremacist site. I'm sure now we're on all kinds of watch lists."
- On fighting with Angelina: "Angie and I do not fight anymore. What occurred to me on this film, and also with the passing of her mother [actress Marcheline Bertrand in 2007], is that there's going to come a time when I'm not going to get to be with this person anymore. I'm not going to get to be with my children anymore. Or friends, people I love and respect. And so, if we have a flare-up, it evaporates now . . . I don't want to waste time being angry at someone I love."
- On the Angelina NY Times article: "It sounded to me like the story made Angie out to be manipulative in some way. She is savvy. I get defensive. [They're] talking about not only the woman I love, but one of the people on this planet who I have the greatest respect for. I think she's as honorable as anyone I've ever met."
- On his favorite of Jolie's movies: Their 2005 action flick Mr. & Mrs. Smith. "Because you know . . . six kids," he says. "Because I fell in love."

Jessica Simpson looked hot on her way into dinner at Maestro's steakhouse in Beverly Hills last night. She said her primary goal when in LA was to be an aunt and daughter, but it looks like she needed some social time as well. New mom Ashlee stepped out on the town herself this week, so maybe the girls can get Tina to babysit for a sisterly night out. With the holidays coming right up, Jessica has a chance to spoil Bronx like she wants to and perhaps even get him fitted for the smallest Cowboys jersey out there.
