Stars came out in NYC last night for a great cause at Keep A Child Alive's annual Black Ball. Alicia Keys, co-founder and global ambassador for the organization, posed with Jessica Alba who was sporting the on trend bowl bangs. Alicia was able to wrangle up some great celebrity faces to round out the red carpet like suave guys Justin Timberlake and John Mayer both of whom dressed down their ties with leather jackets. Tyra and Queen Latifah were among the other familiar faces out to help save the children for a worthwhile formal Thursday night out on the town.

Nicole Richie's hair looked gorgeous on the way out of a salon with Joel Madden in LA yesterday. Their party last night caused some headlines when Nicole was spotted chatting it up with her former stylist turned nemesis Rachel Zoe. Nicole seems like a very different person than her 2006 days and just another example is her latest endeavor. She and Joel will be hosting this year's Snowflake Lighting Ceremony to benefit UNICEF on Rodeo Drive November 22. While she'll always have her sassy personality, there's a softer side to Nicole we've grown to love with the addition of Joel and the mouse to make a cute family of three.

Kate Beckinsale attended a screening of her new movie Nothing But The Truth and celebrated her Self cover in NYC last night. She looked simply stunning even solo and has every reason to radiate happiness with her career, family and friends. She recently talked to Elle UK about every aspect of her life these days. • On Victoria: "Victoria is lovely and very down-to-earth. She loves taking the piss out of herself, which is a good thing as far as I’m concerned. We laugh a lot together. . . Her line of dresses is fantastic and I’m really proud of her. I’d definitely wear one of them, provided I could fit my bum into it! . . .Victoria dresses amazingly, I don’t know how she does it. I haven’t had a stylist for the past six months. When I’ve got an event coming up, I’ll either go shopping myself or ask a designer if I can borrow something.’
• On her career: "Look, I’m sure it would be nice to be in the position where I could choose only those roles that were the most artistically fulfilling, but I don’t have that kind of career. I’m not complaining, though. I get to do good films, and I’ve not felt desperate enough yet to offer anyone a blow job for a part. I hope it stays that way."
