Jessica Simpson traded in her Cowboys gear for a pretty Marni purse and over-sized bright purple hoodie on her way to the gym in West Hollywood yesterday. She loves to hide her curves in baggy clothes while she works out prior to revealing a tinier toned body. The Country Music Awards are in Nashville tonight but this rising star in the genre has to be in California tomorrow for another performance. She is just as busy as ever these days and her tour dates with Rascal Flatts were just announced, but pretty soon Jessica will be on call to be at Ashlee's side for the arrival of that new niece or nephew Jessica is excited to meet.

Now that Victoria Beckham is back in the states, she and David spent some time with their youngest at the Grove in LA yesterday. Cruz was adorable dressed as a San Diego junior zookeeper, though he quickly switched from safari hat to look more like one of Santa's little helpers. Unfortunately, he got a bit teary when he found out that Santa wouldn't be showing up for a few more weeks. Between Victoria's festive green dress and Cruz's early love for Christmas, it seems like this family is already getting in the holiday spirit just like us!

If tonight's CMA Awards are the main event, last night's BMI Country Awards were an excellent taste of what to expect. Stars of the genre gathered in Nashville last night to hand out some medals. Nicole and Keith traded off nights being honored and this time it was his turn. Miley Cyrus may not have walked home with a medal, but she did have a trophy on her arm — her man Justin Gaston. The night's big winner was Taylor Swift, who scored country song of the year for "Teardrops on My Guitar." Carrie Underwood decorated her dress with a medal as well, but hopefully got a good night's rest before the big event in a few hours.

We've already seen some highlights of the December issue of Vogue where Jennifer Aniston opened up about John, Brad and calls Angelina "very uncool" (which out of context sounds so lame). Now we have even more quotes and pictures of the actress looking stunning on the beaches of her home away from home, Cabo. The article is timed to promote her movie Marley and Me and as she has done in the past, the dog-lover poses with her adorable corgi-terrier mix, Norman. The article describes a woman who loves to be in love but doesn't need a man to make the happy ending a reality. She also has a lot to say about the men in her life and getting older. Here are more highlights:

- On her outlook: "You basically watch my life . . . It happens in front of you. And I can protect it and try to control things only to a certain extent. I think what I'm doing now is letting go of the reins a little bit and saying, 'It is what it is.' But there is more to me than just a tabloid girl. This whole 'Poor lonely Jen' thing, this idea that I'm so unlucky in love? I actually feel I've been unbelievably lucky in love. Just because at this stage my life doesn't have the traditional framework to it—the husband and the two kids and the house in Connecticut—it's mine. It's my experience. And if you don't like the way it looks, then stop looking at it! Because I feel good. I don't feel like I'm supposed to be any further along or somewhere that I'm not. I'm right where I'm supposed to be."
- On Vince Vaughn: "I call Vince my defibrillator," she says with genuine affection. "He literally brought me back to life. My first gasp of air was a big laugh! It was great. I love him. He's a bull in a china shop. He was lovely and fun and perfect for the time we had together. And I needed that. And it sort of ran its course."
- More on John Mayer: "But you know, it isn't designed. Love just shows up and you go, 'Oh, wow, this is going to be a hayride and a half.' . . . He had to put that out there that he broke up with me. And especially because it's me. It's not just some girl he's dating. I get it. We're human. But I feel seriously protective of him and us. Trust me, you'll never see that happen again from that man. And it doesn't take away from the fact that he is a wonderful guy. We care about each other. It's funny when you hit a place in a relationship and you both realize, We maybe need to do something else, but you still really, really love each other. It's painful. There was no malicious intent. I deeply, deeply care about him; we talk, we adore one another. And that's where it is."

James Wilkie Broderick was still showing off his Obama pride yesterday on his way to school with his mom Sarah Jessica Parker. Post-election, SJP is keeping the politics going working on her new HBO series, The Washingtonienne, as well as recording an audio tour for an upcoming exhibit at the Met. One project she's not starting quite yet is the sequel to Sex and the City that Kim Cattrall recently confirmed. Sarah Jessica said, "I’m thrilled to know Kim is excited but all the deals are not yet done. With ‘the wind on our heels,’ we hope to make it a reality." That sounds like a work in progress, but hopefully it just means SJP is waiting for the right time to confirm it herself.
