Last night the stars got cultured at the Whitney Museum American Art Gala in NYC. A beautiful Christina Ricci and Emma Roberts stayed on trend in their dark and stormy dresses while Nick and Mariah were red carpet ready as usual. Becki Newton lightened things up a little in her busy pattern, but from the color palette across the board the darker months have hit Manhattan. Donatella Versace helped throw the party and had some man candy on her arm, the face of her line Patrick Dempsey, for the night. The theme of this year's gala was "Whitney — Past, Present and Future" but seeing the star studded red carpet the art wasn't the only exciting sight last night.

Britney Spears put on a big smile to greet Sean Preston after school on Monday. From the looks of her happy face, her driving without a license trial wasn't weighing her down despite the fact that after a full day of deliberations, the jury still hasn't reached a consensus. Apparently Britney is starting to regret letting the case go to trial since there is the threat of jail time if she's found guilty. Britney always has the latest in her phone evolution to get the updates and until then she seems to be doing a good job of keeping her mind off possible jail time by playing with her boys and posting new photos on her website.
While the media has been buzzing nonstop about her divorce, Madonna kept her kids smiling with a trip to the Chelsea Piers Gym in NYC yesterday. Rocco and Lourdes looked like they were having a blast as they practiced tumbling on the mats while Madonna watched with her entourage. It's good to see the kids having so much fun since apparently Madonna wants to keep them in New York, but of course this only fuels rumors that she wants to be close to Alex Rodriguez — especially now that she supposedly wants to have a baby with the baseball star. Wonder what Guy thinks about Rocco's love for his Yankee shirt?
Keira Knightley traded her usual trendy clothes for something a little more comfortable while on set yesterday in NYC. She and the French actor Guillaume Canet filmed a scene for their upcoming romantic comedy Last Night. Keira's last few films have all been costumed period pieces, so it will be fun to see her back in something more contemporary — and another Love Actually would always be welcome.
Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
