Nicole Kidman has her hands full these days with baby Sunday to take care of, but the busy mom took a break to get dolled up for Elle's Women in Hollywood issue. She looks beautiful yet comfortable in her photos, and talks a bit about her marriage with Tom, and bringing a little one into the world later on her life. Here are highlights:
On her relationship with Keith: "I didn't foresee it, that you can meet somebody who you have a deep and more profound love with. I don't mean to take away anything with Tom, but I would hope that he has the same thing — I know he has the same thing with Katie. You move into a stage where you're able to be a more fuller person in your relationship."
On whether she regrets getting married at 22: "Um, no. Would I want my kids to get married at that age? No! But that was an extraordinary thing for me. [Tom] taught me an enormous amount — as a girl into a woman. Absolutely, I would do it again."
On becoming a mom again: “At 41, it’s a more painful love. I look at that little girl, and I’m, like, Oh, no, what’s going to happen? It’s almost like my heart is stretching; I’m feeling all these muscles stretch with emotion. It’s a beautiful love but there’s a lot of fear and pain for her life, and for Bella’s and Connor’s life. I like to believe that nothing was stopping Sunday from coming into the world.”
Nicole may have the natural instinct to be worried about her children, but at least they have her to look up to as a role model — she'll be honored by Shirley MacLaine at the magazine's Women in Hollywood Tribute party tonight.
Matt Damon went out to eat with Luciana, Isabella, and baby Gia — though we didn't get a peek at her — along with his extended family in Miami yesterday. The big group celebrated the family's participation in the Escape to Miami triathlon where Matt and his stepfather had legs of a relay team, while his brother did the whole thing. Matt's been trying to keep losing that weight he put on for The Informant, and when asked if he planned to add running to his exercise regime, he joked, "I don't think so. I knew I was in trouble when the old guy with the oxygen tank passed me." Sounds like Matt's being his usual modest self since we know he's already a jogger, but no matter how he gets there we're excited to see him buff again, especially if it's for another Bourne.
The 2009 Spring fashion season came to a close in Paris last night after a whirlwind month of shows in New York, London, and Milan. Lots of stars were out to celebrate, with Emma Watson, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell taking in YSL and Chanel while Dita von Teese and Lenny Kravitz checked out Marc Jacobs's newest work at Louis Vuitton. After shopping around the city, Kate Bosworth brought her man James Rousseau to the Miu Miu show last night along with Kirsten Dunst, who is a former face of the brand. Kirsten also made time for some sightseeing, which hopefully kept her mind off the less-than-stellar opening of How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.
Just this morning we were hoping for a glimpse of the Jolie-Pitt kids after seeing Brad riding his bike around New Orleans, and sure enough Angelina stepped out this afternoon with Shiloh, Pax, and Zahara! Shiloh is looking so big in her Crocs, but still got a ride from Angelina while Pax and Zahara were too sweet holding hands. The little ones were even treated to Cheetos as they strolled around the French Quarter. Now, if only Knox and Vivenne were ready to make their first public appearance before the family jets off to a new location again.
Gwen Stefani turned 39 on Friday, and celebrated with plenty of family time, starting with a trip to her parents' house on Saturday. Zuma made his first public appearance, but stayed well hidden under his blanket. Their Sunday schedule included one of their family playdates at the Pan Pacific Park in LA after breakfast at La Brea Bakery, though this time only Gavin and Kingston came along. This busy mom shows no signs of slowing down as she gets older.
Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
