Fergie was all over NYC yesterday, speaking to kids and attending an event at the MAC store as part of her duties as MAC Viva Glam spokesperson. She announced 11 new grants from the MAC AIDS Fund to help prevent the spread of HIV among young people. The campaign gets money from the lip gloss Fergie helped design, and she talked about how proud she is to use her fame to give back. She said, "As a musician, I'm able to reach a wider audience about issues close to my heart, and through the VIVA GLAM campaign, I've been able to get this message across to youth around the world. I'm so gratified that my lipglass has raised funds to help prevent youth across the globe from contracting HIV." After finding the perfect way to combine looking glamorous with giving back, she'll stay in the spotlight this weekend performing at Fashion Rocks with the Black Eyed Peas.

Attached at the hip as usual, Paris Hilton and Benji Madden synced up in black and white for a date at Il Sole in LA last night. After recently denying rumors that she was seeing someone else, Paris once again gushed about going strong six months later saying, "Benji is my best friend. I'm the luckiest girl in the world. He's taught me so much about love and trust. It's the happiest I've ever been." Next on Paris' schedule is the Toronto Film Festival, where she's allowing just one screening of the documentary about her, Paris, Not France. She's scheduled to attend the premiere of the intimate look into her life and we have a feeling that Benji, who makes an appearance in the film, will be right there with her.

A sultry Rachel Bilson graces the cover of Page Six Magazine's fashion issue, just in time for the budding fashionista's upcoming launch of Edie Rose. In the interview Rachel reveals she is the maid of honor at OC creator Josh Schwartz's wedding, where she may run into Adam Brody, who recently attended Josh's Vegas bachelor party. While we're not holding our breaths for a Gosling-McAdams style reunion, Bilson talks about all her boys in the interview. Here are highlights:

- On Hayden: "I’m happy and that’s all that matters. I have someone really great. Someone who can make me laugh — that’s always what comes first. It’s the best to be able to really, like, truly laugh with someone like they’re your best friend, you know?"
- On her sense of style: "I think it’s cool to be on the worst-dressed list. If people aren’t accepting, that’s OK. Bring it on, I don’t care! [. . .] Vintage is [my mom's] love, she has a great eye, which I think I’ve inherited from her."
- On her ex, Adam: "They say don’t date your co-star, but that’s who you’re around. If you’re in an office, and you see someone everyday and you click well, you’ll start dating. It’s the same thing."
While Rachel seems to have a habit of falling for her costars, she seems to be spending more time designing than acting these days. We can't wait to see her whole collection soon and hopefully her sitting in a front row or two at NY Fashion Week.
Matthew McConaughey celebrated the premiere of Surfer, Dude at an afterparty benefiting the Austin Film Society in Texas last night. At the screening Woody Harrelson joked that making the movie was the most "non-working work" he's ever done, which sounds pretty accurate judging by the silly trailer and all the shots of them filming last Summer. Matthew described the movie as "homegrown" and about "how you surf life," revealing he made it with all of his friends he met while attending the University of Texas. Just one more way that Matthew shows love for his alma mater, which he's already passing down to Levi through football games and even doing some hilarious voiceover work for a Baby Longhorns DVD.

Britney Spears stepped out in LA last night, while the rest of us were getting excited for her upcoming appearance opening the VMAs on Sunday. We can't wait to see her on stage again, though it looks like she will be right back to fighting another legal battle when the show is over. At her hearing yesterday, the judge wouldn't dismiss her old charge for driving without a license, which means she could go on trial in October. This may not have been the outcome Britney was hoping for, but maybe all she needs are a few cheers from her fans and a finally winning a moonman to get her spirits up again.
