Leighton Meester changed out of her glam green outfit you loved into a comfy t-shirt, jeans, and sunglasses when flying into JFK last night with her scruffy pup tucked into her luggage. Leighton and her Gossip Girl costars accepted multiple surfboards in LA on Sunday night, and the actress talked about the show and the upcoming season in an interview. Here are some highlights:
On the show: "It’s mature, but I feel like it speaks to kids and it doesn’t white wash anything."
On the racy ads: "We just end up seeing it on a billboard somewhere. But I think that it's smart and it's fine and it's cool."
On Blair next season: "There's a lot more [language]. I say Bass-hole, I say something else, but it’s all Chuck Bass-related."
Sounds like Blair and Chuck's love-hate relationship will continue to be pretty tense, though we have to admit that we're still not totally used to the language that those kids can get away with these days.
Aww, how adorable and giddy do James Van Der Beek and his wife Heather McComb look? The couple went to dinner at Katsuya in LA last night, looking just as in love as they did frolicking on the beach for their fifth anniversary. While Dawson's former onscreen love returns to television, James has two new movies, The Boy in the Box and Formosa Betrayed, coming soon. Still, we can't help but dream about the kids from Capeside getting back together. Hey, if the kids from 90210 can do it, why not?
Never one to let a breakup get her down, Kate Hudson was looking sunny out in NYC yesterday and shopping for groceries at Whole Foods. Whether her extra friendliness with ex Chris Robinson means anything or if that's just the kind of relationship they have, I do like that she can keep a smile on her face. Plus, she's got something fun to look forward to — the short film Cutlass that she directed for Glamour last year will be showing at the Palm Springs International ShortFest at the end of the month alongside movies directed by Kirsten Dunst, Robert Redford, and others.
