Despite Recession, Americans Still Prefer Top Shelf
Yesterday model and actress Molly Sims announced the interesting results of the 2008 National Survey of American Cocktail Culture, Attitudes, and Trends. The survey — conducted by idrinkwell.com — asked consumers about their drinking perspectives. Steve Wallet, the vice president of the sponsorship behind the survey summarizes the results.
Sarah Michelle Gellar kept it simple with a black and white outfit while filming her new movie Veronika Decides to Die in NYC. The movie title sounds a little morbid, and the last time we heard about it, Kate Bosworth had the lead, but we have faith that SMG can brighten up the dark plotline. However the movie ends up, we are glad to see Sarah Michelle getting back to work — between this and Possession, we might be able to get our SMG fix even if it's not on the small screen.
Nicole Richie has been out on the town lately with Joel on her arm, but last night she had a fun night of fashion on her own. She joined actresses Erika Christensen and Cameron Richardson for an Alexander Wang trunk show at the boutique Satine, along with the model Erin Wasson, who is a good friend and stylist to Alexander. Clothes aren't the only thing on aspiring designer Nicole's mind, because she's rumored to be in talks to create a new reality show that searches for a girl who can achieve instant fame by appearing on TV — basically the next Nicole Richie. Time will tell though if the person Nicole finds is able to turn her fame into an entertainment empire.
Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel were out in New York City last night for the premiere of their new movie, M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening. Of course, Mark Wahlberg looked smoking hot all snazzed up in his suit, while Zooey was picture-perfect adorable as usual in her pink dress. So bubblegum girly! Mischa made the trip out for the premiere, and considering her big break was as a little girl in Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense, it only fits. This scary movie is too scary for me (eek!) but we'll see this weekend if you're all ready for another fright fest with that M. Night twist.
Hey there, stranger. Jessica Biel was spotted in LA for the first time in a while, arriving at LAX yesterday afternoon before meeting up with Justin for dinner. The past few months Jessica has been in South Carolina shooting Nailed, and it looks like she could use some beautiful California — or a screening of her man's The Love Guru — to get a smile back on her face. While rumor has it that she and Justin are moving in together, Justin was quick to deny any engagement stories on Leno last night. As for the happy (?) couple, hopefully we'll see more of them in the Summer months — those Malibu beaches are just waiting for their beach body ways.
We were admittedly excited to hear that George Clooney and Sarah Larson split up a couple of weeks ago, and now we're hearing lots of stories as to why. One rumor is that she was talking too much and trying to get famous, while another is that George broke up with Sarah when she decided to get breast implants. Supposedly Sarah didn't even know that it was over until she read about it in a magazine. This is all just speculation, but if the plastic surgery rumors are true, do you feel bad for Sarah Larson?
Rachel Zoe was photographed walking down Robertson, Starbucks in hand, looking ready for some serious shopping. She looked chic in her round sunglasses and Chanel bag, which she wore with of-the-moment thigh-high boots, a denim Current/Elliott biker jacket, and printed scarf.
