Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz: Engaged and parents-to-be? Nicole Richie and Joel Madden: New parents and engaged? This 20-something foursome, who have brought or are bringing little rocker children into the world, all got together in NYC last night. I wonder if they talked about babies? From there, Joel was off to gush on stage calling Harlow his "one and only true love"— awwww! Meanwhile, Pete and Ashlee were off to stage a photo shoot with the engagement ring in their hotel to sell to photo agencies — ugh. While this whole pregnancy/engagement thing seems annoyingly calculated, apparently the mastermind behind it (um, Joe) isn't getting the response he wanted from the magazines. Maybe he should take the cue, lay off it, and let his daughter go about her life with Pete — baby or no baby — in peace for a little.

Fergie was all about the accessories when she shopped around NYC yesterday. Between stops at Cartier, Calvin Klein and more she upgraded from sporting one of her own bags for Kipling with black shades, to a Cartier tote with white sunglasses. One piece that stayed with her throughout her transformation was, naturally, her huge engagement ring. Flossy Fergie wouldn't have it any other way.

Drew Barrymore didn't have her usual grin on at LAX yesterday — maybe because her constant companion Justin Long wasn't by her side. Sad face. While her cheeks get a break from that good kind of hurt for a moment, I'm sure they'll be back to kissy faces and hand holding soon enough. If their lovey dovey-ness is not enough to put a smile on your face, I gotta believe the poster for her upcoming movie, Beverly Hills Chihuahua (formerly known as South of the Border) will. Seriously, it's hilarious.

While Lindsay has finally added jeans back into her wardrobe (so long leggings) there are a few things that never seem to change. LL was spotted at the hair salon for the second time in as many days, leaving with a slightly less wavy 'do yesterday afternoon. Seriously, she's there like every...single...day. If it's keeping her out of trouble then I guess it's okay but it's not a cheap habit... neither are her many designer handbags (today she's showcasing the latest Miu Miu It bag). Must be nice.

Oh, MK...no...just no. Mary-Kate Olsen looked a touch ridiculous (sad face) at last night's New Year’s in April: A Fool’s Fête event to support New Yorkers for Children. At least her fellow partygoers including the always impeccable Leighton Meester and Emmy Rossum saved the event from being a full on velvet headband debacle. Speaking of which — love it or hate it? I kid, I kid MK. I may not always love the way she dresses herself, but I am an Olsen fan to the end and at least her fall line for Elizabeth and James and upcoming movie The Wackness are both saving graces. Plus, it's hard to be hard on her when she's out for such a good cause with all the other fabulous philanthropic celebs last night.

We wouldn't have pegged Jake Gyllenhaal as a personal umbrella holder kind of guy, but there it was yesterday on the set of Nailed in Columbia, SC. It's a little silly, but his hands are full and he does have that injury that has had him using crutches recently. Joining Jake on set was his co-star Jessica Biel, looking so much better with darker hair, who kept busy playing with her dog Tina in-between takes. The plot of this movie sounds bizarre, but hopefully these two will make it worth seeing.

Britney Spears spent another afternoon at the gym with her personal trainer yesterday, though I can't imagine she was sweating it out too hard with the aviators on. While she was working out there was a Britney-based court date, but thankfully no drama attached. Sam Lutfi agreed to an extension through July on the restraining order against him, though he was careful to make it known that he's still in touch with the Spears household. Ugh, whatever. As long as he keeps staying away, he can blather on all he wants about just doing what's best for Brit right now.
