We're finally only days away from the return of our beloved Gossip Girl — between the rumors of new on-set hookups and the racy ad campaign, we can hardly contain our excitement. To celebrate, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester posed together in all sorts of colorful and fabulous outfits for the May cover of Nylon Magazine. Here are some highlights from their interview:

- Blake on how she got her fashion sense: “My sister Robin was an actress, so she was always wearing wardrobe and certain things for events . . . my mom used to go to Urban Outfitters and get me vintage looking pieces, like tweed dresses and these argyle leggings and tops and she would just sew them up to fit me. So in school . . . the other kids would make fun of the way I dressed because it was so funky and outlandish, and not like anyone else . . . "
- Leighton on GG style: “Serena is more thrown together and effortless and doesn’t really care, and is just like, has this sexiness to her without trying, and Blair is really uptight and conservative and put together and everything has to be perfect, you know Chuck is kind of cocky and he’s just like, I don’t know, a prick."
- Blake on almost turning down the show: “[I thought] if there are pet monkeys wearing coordinating outfits, that’s not something I’m going to want to be a part of . . . "
Well, this isn't the first time Blake has talked about her aversion to monkeys, but we're all glad the producers choose her over Chuck's pet from the books. Check out the full article when the magazine hits stands and more pics from the shoot here. Now, how many more days until Monday?

Considering that Mariah has more No. 1 singles than Elvis and has worked with Randy Jackson for years, it was only a matter of time before she was on the show. Her new album hit stores yesterday, and considering Ashlee Simpson has an album coming out around the same time, we think the AI guest star option is a way better way to promote it than the engaged and maybe pregnant way to get headlines (ouch but true).
Overall Simon concluded the truth: As usual, the men won the night! Syesha was the only woman worth noting, hitting those high notes while glowing in her gold gown.
As for the boys, David Archuleta was solid, and Cook was emotional as well as the best performance, choosing the most memorable Mariah song of the night. Jason Castro had a great beat but wasn't the best.
My favorite part was when Simon was all proud of the "Simon for President" sign that Ryan then tore up. Tonight I think we'll see Carly, Brooke, and Kristy Lee Cook in the final three and I'm thinking Carly's time is up. Kirsten Dunst has been keeping a low profile in NYC since leaving rehab just a few weeks ago, and yesterday was more of the same with a trek out jeans shopping. Their choice of store was a little more chic than the Utah Target. Since filming has started on her new movie All Good Things, Kirsten will have a little less time to hit the shops, but that's a small price to pay when it means spending more time on set with a hot costar like Ryan Gosling.

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson stopped by Joan's on Third for lunch yesterday (where Sam donated money to Jerry's Kids!) before heading off once again to get LL's hair done at Neil George. While we may not all think Samantha is a good influence on Lindsay, I think we can all agree that the Lohan parents are a bit of a mess. While Michael is now making false claims that Linds is joining him on a missionary trip to India, Dina is partying her way through Vegas on breaks from filming Living Lohan with Cody and Ali. Plus, he's still blathering on about why he recently reopened their divorce. Samantha may seem like bad news, but at least she's consistent in Lindsay's life and keeps herself relatively out of the media.
