Tonight on AI, apparently there was more drama than from Simon's usual disgust. Ryan's knee issues and David Cook's post-show hospital trip make it sound like more exciting stuff was going on behind the scenes than on the actual show. Simon was pretty much let down by most of the contestants, and we have to say for this point of the competition, we'd hope for better performances also. Maybe I'm still bitter Chikezie got the boot last week.

As for this week:
- Michael Johns continues to be one of my favorites and was clearly the highlight of the night!
- Jason Castro was good again for the first time in a while.
- Syesha ended on a high note (literally), but she should really stop trying to be the next Whitney 'cause she's so not close.
- Brooke was good, but the best part of her last night was her makeup — so pretty!
- No one could tell David Cook wasn't feeling well, since his performance was excellent.
- I am over David Archuleta, but he was good and he isn't going anywhere for a while.
- Kristy Lee looked pretty but for someone who was excelling in country music, she didn't impress me this week at all.
Bottom three: Ramiele, Carly, and probably Kristy Lee Cook, and of these three, I would not be sad to see any of them go home.

Lindsay Lohan flashed a smirk out in LA last night while people at home watching TMZ TV got a little April Fool's laugh courtesy of the starlet. Check out the video after the jump, but she made a surprise appearance on the show mocking herself, her love of leggings, and people's interest in the mundane goings on in the celebrity world. Sometimes I forget that she can actually be pretty hilarious. Hopefully this Jack Black movie, Ye Olde Times will showcase her talents . . . because something tells me the Charles Manson movie won't be a laugh riot. At least not intentionally.

Salma Hayek and 6-month-old Valentina had a day of mother-daughter bonding yesterday as they shopped together at the Balenciaga boutique in LA. Salma's family certainly loves to shop, and chic Valentina will definitely be giving little Suri Cruise some competition in the best dressed celebrity baby department. No sign of Salma's fiancé Francois-Henri Pinault, but perhaps now that Valentina is getting a little older, they are switching into wedding planning mode.

Jennifer Aniston was still showing off that adorable 90s-ish style — with the cutoffs and Keds — on the set of Marley and Me in Miami yesterday. They were surrounded by canine companions including the lucky doggie that gets to play adult Mr. Marley himself. I'll be surprised if the actors don't leave this movie with some new four legged friends for themselves. Jennifer may just be an actress in this film, but with her new production company, Echo she'll get to be more than just a pretty face in front of the camera. As long as it doesn't mean giving her up as a leading lady, we'll be here to cheer on all of her endeavors.

Ryan Gosling may not have shown up with a date on his arm, but Ellen Barkin was the lucky lady posing by his side at the after party of The Visitor premiere in NYC last night. Seriously, she gets to hang out with all the good ones. Hot hot Mr. Gosling and Ellen aren't actually in the movie, but neither are Patricia Clarkson, Stanley Tucci or Steve Buscemi who were all out for the event. Hey no complaints, anywhere we get to see Ryan is a very welcome bit of midweek manjoyment.

Matt Damon is still in London with his favorite Pats hat (holla!), which kept his head warm out at Nobu last night. On his way in, he gave his dining buddy a big embrace and he also stopped to pose with one of the paparazzi pestering him as he went into the restaurant. While Matt is handing out hugs in London, his mom is talking about her new book on the effect of violence in the media on kids. Matt's no stranger to violent movies, but his mom's work has taught and changed him, too. He said:

- On learning from his mom: "I've always made my decision about what movies to make with an eye toward these issues ... I've grown up knowing about all this, after all. As a high school kid, I'd come home to find my mom in the living room watching TV cartoons, counting acts of violence, and I would watch with her, to see what she was looking for. . . . I accept and agree with what she says - that it desensitizes kids, that there could be blowback from it."
- On why it made him not allow his likeness in Bourne video games: "I lobbied hard [with the video producers] to not make a first-person shooter game but to make it more like Myst, which was a great interesting puzzle you tried to solve - you know, to play with his amnesia or his memory ... They weren't interested. They made the video anyway, without my likeness...I'd like to think that I at least made them more aware of the issues. That's step one. Step two is changing behavior. I learned that from my mom, too."
Not only is it great to hear that he's willing to stand by his convictions, but that he learned it from his mom is even more endearing. It doesn't even need to be said that Damon can do no wrong — because instead everything he does just makes him better.
