Hayden Christensen is showing off his super spiky hair and smoldering stare in this month's Details magazine. We've got to hand it to him for having the brooding boy act down cold. Hayden's been all over the place promoting Jumper with Rachel, but in the article he was more interested in talking about Star Wars, plus a few tidbits about his pet piggies and how he deals with being pegged as a bad actor. Here are highlights:
On his pet pigs: "That's Buddy and Petunia. I'm not a vegetarian, but since I've gotten these guys, I can't eat pork anymore. It's killing me. I especially love prosciutto."
On the backlash for his acting in Star Wars: "How those movies are made is very specific, as far as what our jobs are. George isn't looking for us to come in and have script meetings with him and talk about characters. It wasn't necessarily anything you could feel good about creatively, as far as 'This is why I became an actor.' It's not why you become an actor, to do that stuff"
On his personal motto, ILLEGITIMI NON CARBORUNDUM, "It was a saying among soldiers in World War II. It means 'Don't let the bastards get you down."
It sounds like Hayden won't have a hard time living up to his own advice this week. Even though Jumper didn't get rave reviews, it still scored the No. 1 spot at the box office last weekend.
Keri Russell and her little River spent some quality time around LA over the long President's Day weekend. It looks like both of them were enjoying that warm California sun even though hot daddy (and husband of one year) Shane Deary was nowhere to be seen. Keri and her mini man seem attached at the Bjorn these days, but this weekend may be babysitter time for River when his parents hopefully come out the night before the Oscars for Saturday's Independent Spirit Awards, where Waitress was nominated for Best Screenplay. Probably wishful thinking that Shane would be on Keri's arm at the show, but it would certainly be nice.
Colin Farrell looked a little greasy but nicely suited up at the Dublin International Film Festival this weekend to premiere In Bruges. The Irish actor has had a strong film career along with a bad boy reputation that has turned sentimental since having a son. That warmness also comes through in his career as Colin has joined Jude Law and Johnny Depp to keep Heath's Ledger's final film alive. The three actors cast in The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus will play Heath's character in different fantasy worlds. Sound pretty amazing and it sure is wonderful to see how Hollywood rallied together to keep the star's presence alive.
Matthew McConaughey got all gussied up for this commercial for Dolce & Gabbana. Not his typical fare, but there's something to be said for a more serious and suited up MM. Of course, the ad wouldn't be complete without a nice long money shot of those signature abs. So what do you think of Matthew for D & G — hot or not?
Lindsay Lohan had no problem showing off her assets in her low cut/super short little number at the Italia-Film Fashion & Art Fest in LA on Sunday. Of course, she was still a lot more covered up than what we saw in her racy spread for New York Magazine. Lindsay definitely seems to be trying to get attention any way she can these days. Too bad she's still not getting any love from the Hollywood boys of her choice, but maybe her Marilyn Monroe-esque photos will change some of their minds.
Spending some time with boyfriend Mike Comrie put a smile on Hilary Duff's face as the couple ducked out of NYC's Waverly Inn on Monday night. Awwww, so cute. Hilary downgraded her earrings a little since the last time we saw her, but she seems to like 'em big these days. Somehow it's hard for me to believe that it was really tank top weather in Manhattan last night, but maybe she had some liquid help to warm her up before stepping out. Plus having a big cuddly hockey player around can't hurt.
We were starting to wonder whether Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia were still involved in their semi-illicit relationship. We only saw them looking couple-y together once and she did spend her Valentine's Day with her family, after all. But it looks like the answer is yes and the two were very gussied up for a private party in LA on Saturday night. Of course both of them looked impeccable for the fancy pants event, but there's something about Milo in that tuxedo (especially with the bowtie) that makes it look like he works for her? Just saying.
Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
