Hilary Duff touched down in Sydney today all fresh-faced and tan. As Britney's sad drama continues, starlets like she and Rihanna are a breath of fresh air — just don't expect Hil to compare herself to any of Hollywood's troubled girls anytime soon. She said, "The last thing I'd want is for someone like myself to comment on what they should do or how they're handling their life. It's really easy to judge from the outside. We don't know what they're going through. It's hard, I definitely don't envy it.'' So far Hilary has done a great job of being a grounded role model, so hopefully she can keep that up as she continues to make her mark on Hollywood.
Marc Jacobs threw a little party in New York last night to celebrate the premiere of a documentary about himself — Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton — perfectly timed to kick off Fashion Week, which officially starts today. The man of the hour, MJ himself, looks like he made the rounds (with a red purse) like a good host, saying hi to party guests like Heidi, Helena, Ellen, Lil' Kim, and Rachel Zoe. Take off your hat and stay a while, Josh. I'm thinking that we'll be seeing a lot more of all these faces as Fashion Week rolls on. Fab and Bella are once again in NYC covering all the action both here on the Sugar sites and at Elle.com, so don't miss all the fun. Oh, and if you want to watch the Marc Jacobs documentary to see the man working his magic, check it out Monday night at 8 p.m. on the Sundance Channel.
To see more from the party including the awesome Allison Janney, Heidi, Helena, Josh, Ellen, Rachel Zoe, Katie Lee Joel, Lydia Hearst, Sophia Bush, Lil' Kim, and others just read more
Lost Episode 1: "The Beginning of the End" I'm not going to go so far as to say the Season Four premiere of Lost was worth the wait because that was a really long wait, and I don't want to jinx us somehow, but this first episode of the new season definitely delivered all the Lost-y goodness we've been craving for months on end.
Grey's Anatomy star Justin Chambers voluntarily checked into the psych ward at UCLA Medical Center, the same place Britney is being held, on Monday because he suffers from a sleep disorder; he was released on Wednesday. Even though he's familiar with Seattle Grace, being in the real hospital is not pleasant so hopefully he's feeling better already. — TMZ

Kirsten Dunst has friends and loved ones worried she's headed for trouble, saying she's been acting strange and "erratic" since her breakup with Johnny Borell. Her rep says she's fine, but let's hope that she's not the next starlet on the road to a breakdown. — Page Six
After just six months on the air, Star Jones's show on TruTV (formerly CourtTV) has been canceled. Maybe she should go back to just practicing law rather than making TV shows.— People
Amy Winehouse is on an IV drip in a London hospital because her attempts to go cold turkey in rehab have resulted in "horrific" withdrawal symptoms, including dehydration. It may be best for her to skip the Grammys after all. — The Sun
Microsoft has put in a $44.6 billion bid to acquire Yahoo, in an effort to strengthen both companies and counter the search dominance of Google. If this huge deal goes through, it should be very interesting to watch what happens. —AP
Wow, I'm going to go ahead and say I didn't see this one coming. According to TMZ, Eva Mendes is in rehab at Cirque Lodge (LL's former stomping grounds) in Utah. She has apparently been there for a few weeks dealing with a substance abuse problem. We saw her in Paris in mid-January, so it must have been pretty soon afterwards that she decided to get help for whatever she is battling. We wish her the best on her road to recovery.
UPDATE — Eva's rep has released the following statement: "Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support. Out of respect for Eva’s privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details."
I normally am not a fan of the crude Sarah Silverman but this video is hilarious and of course adorable Matt Damon helps. Everyone knows the ongoing joke that Jimmy Kimmel often ends his show saying, "Our apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time." We loved seeing Matt go off on Jimmy a few years ago, and being the good sport that he is, Matt mocked himself for Jimmy's show once again. Last night on the show, Sarah presented Jimmy with this awesome music video, which includes singing and dancing with Matt. It's the perfect morning or lunchtime pick me up so enjoy.
Rihanna took her sexy self to H&M for the launch of Fashion Against Aids in NYC yesterday. She was gracious enough to take her hands out of her pockets long enough to sign some autographs for fans. On the campaign she said, "There's an urgent need to do something in this target group. I love fashion and I love that it can be used in such a positive way to fight AIDS. I wanted to get involved with fashion against AIDS because it's a scary disease and it affects a lot of young people out there." Miss Rihanna has been making huge waves in the music industry in the past year, and this campaign seems like a great way for her to spread an important message to her many fans.
Kate Moss was all smiles leaving the SingStar Take That Extravaganza in London. She took a casual approach to the night, opting for patent leather flats and mismatched blacks.
