Judging from Johnny Depp's headwear, he'd be right at home in one of this Spring's anticipated blockbusters but instead he was just keeping it incognito in LA this week. We missed seeing his pretty face at the SAG Awards and getting to hear his Golden Globes acceptance speech, but we're glad that the Academy recognized his work in Sweeney Todd with a Best Actor nod. The Oscar competition is going to get fierce between fellow nominees Clooney and Daniel-Day Lewis, but as long as we get a glimpse of Johnny on the big night, there won't be any complaints here.

For Hayden Panettiere, life isn't just about fancy clothes and parties, because her new passion is activism. After her attempts to stop a Japanese dolphin hunt failed in November, it looks like she's adopted a more diplomatic approach when it comes to saving whales. Over the weekend, she spoke at a rally in Washington, DC on behalf of the "Save the Whales Again!" campaign, and planned to meet with representatives from three of the countries that still allow whaling. The new voter even stopped by the Obama rally at American University yesterday to ask the candidate about his stance on whaling. She's so dedicated to her cause that she's even auctioning off items from her own closet to raise funds. Milo must be one proud boyfriend.
