Nicole Kidman was all smiles heading to lunch with Keith in Sydney today, and now that she's confirmed her pregnancy, she doesn't have to hide her giddiness anymore. We expect to be hearing plenty of gushing from her in the coming months, but the first person to weigh in on her big news was George Clooney. When her long-time buddy was asked about it last night at the Critics' Choice Awards, he said, "At least she is older than 16." Ouch for Jamie Lynn, but touché, George. He did manage to get serious long enough to say that Nicole would make a perfect and tall mother.

Katherine Heigl smiled big in her glittery dress at the premiere of her 27 Dresses in LA, complete with an entourage of pretty girls dressed in — you guessed it — 27 dresses. She had the support of her BFF TR Knight and co-star Ellen Pomepo. The Office star Melora Hardin was there to show off a new beauty look as well. Of course her new husband Josh was there to pose on the red carpet, too, and in true Heigl fashion, she had plenty to say about her honeymoon and married life. Katherine loves to talk about herself, but even she couldn't help but throw in her two cents on Britney Spears, saying,

I can't possibly imagine what that young girl is going through. I just hope...that even with all this attention, people can find it in their hearts to be compassionate and not be so judgmental. She is obviously in a great deal of drama and pain, and that's a horrible thing for someone to go through in front of the entire world — and I'm sorry for her.

Guess we're not the only ones who can't stop talking about Britney. Between Ellen Page and Katherine, it seems like Britney's not going away as a hot topic of conversation among celebs anytime soon.

Johnny Depp took his signature hat and sunglasses to Japan to promote Sweeney Todd today. He swapped his plaid shirt with a suit for the premiere with his BFF Tim Burton, but kept it quirky as usual with his untied tie. Now that the Golden Globes are officially canceled, we're sad that we won't have Johnny's pretty face gracing the red carpet this weekend, but hopefully at least he and Tim will take home some of the awards they've been nominated for. This time last year, Kate Moss was almost marrying Pete in Thailand, and now just months later, she's back in the same country but thankfully with someone else. Kate has taken new love Jamie there on vacation, where they were spotted Sunday on their way through security. Besides starting a new (and seemingly healthier) relationship, more good came Kate's way in 2007 as she apparently almost doubled her income in the past year. Maybe ditching Pete and cleaning up her act was the wisest financial move Kate has ever made.

Lindsay Lohan trotted back from her Italian adventure and straight to working away at that community service in Pomona California. I wonder if she regaled her Red Cross friends with stories of all her overseas gentlemen callers. Ugh, maybe it would be wise for Linds to stay away from the big mouthed men for a while while she gets herself back on track. Then again maybe she needs a more rigid selection process for guys in general, eh? Perhaps sleazy dudes are like her leggings, she just can't bring herself to move on to embrace the rest of the options out there.
