Britney Spears spent yet another day hard at work spending some serious cash. This time she wasn't just changing her own clothes, she was supposedly shopping for her pregnant 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn. The world has been abuzz since the shocking news and each day new details emerge. The latest is from Casey Aldridge's relatives. They are having no problem talking even though Casey has gone in hiding since he is apparently not ready to open up. Casey's Uncle, Odus Jackson, describes Jamie Lynn's baby's daddy as quiet and someone who doesn't enjoy the spotlight. Jackson also said the young couple are still together and hope to marry in the future but they just don't want to "rush into it." These rumors sound better than the break up ones from yesterday, but the bottom line is this whole thing is playing out like a bad after school special which oddly enough it may actually become in some way.
Yesterday was another day in NYC, and you know what that means — Jen and Violet were out on the town again. They were both bundled up as usual and this time Violet was showing off a new goofy red hat. She may not be the most stylish kid of 2007, but how could anyone resist those fuzzy bunny ears? We can't wait to see if she can give Suri and Kingston a run for their money in her 2008 wardrobe.
Ashlee Simpson brought her semi-stolen thunder to TRL yesterday afternoon and looked cute and 80s (and tiny). Doll, if you need arm warmers, you might as well wear a real shirt. She might have been a little pouty that her music video was overshadowed by Jamie Lynn Spears' pregnancy (talk about comparing apples and teen pregnancy oranges), but she was all smiles stopping by to show off her song. Hey, at least she doesn't have an entire football franchise's fanbase hating her like Jessica does. Hopefully, spending Christmas at home with her family (and Pete) will be nothing but relaxing for the Simpson family.
Jay-Z was having a ball at the Knicks vs. Cavaliers game last night at MSG in the company of plenty of celebs including Woody Allen and Spike Lee. He may not be your pick for hardest working celeb of 2007, but he looked pretty happy just to be courtside for a rare New York victory. Beyonce is busy overseas but it looks like Jay had plenty of distractions to keep his mind off of his lady. Something tells us that she'll be back stateside soon to spend the holidays with her billion dollar boy.
Ah, even more of Jamie Lynn Spears in OK!, now with the whole spread. Though we've covered the highlights already. Seriously though, you think OK! got enough mileage out of this cover story? Her story is probably already worth that paycheck. A week ago I knew very little about Jamie Lynn's personal life, and now she's making bigger news than her sister. It's still pretty crazy.
As for her other source of income, Nickelodeon released their statement in support of Jamie Lynn, but the fate of her show Zooey 101 is still in limbo. In the meantime, the network may be planning a special about sex and teen pregnancy based on the news. Wow, right? I guess a lot of parents have had to prematurely explain some things to their kids.
