The New Museum in NYC celebrated its grand reopening last night, co-hosted by Calvin Klein and attended by some lovely ladies...and Lance Armstrong. I don't want to make any assumptions (yes I do), but Ashley and Lance at the same party — where Mr. Armstrong could seem out of place — methinks more dating rumors are close behind. Ali Larter was there and showing off her bod in a sheath dress — hey, she's definitely got it. Julianne Moore, on the other hand, went for something a little less form fitting while Maggie looked great in winter white. Really though, I can pretend to care about the other people at the party, but I really want to know what happened with Lance and Ashley once they got inside...
On growing up:
"I was once told that the age you are is the age you were when you became who you are. Does that mean I am perpetually 11? I'm not sure I want to have that strict an image. In the movie business, there is such a temptation to stick with a particular persona. There is a kind of artistic branding."
On shaving her head:
"Being bald was great, but the regrowth was the problem. My hair is very curly, and I'd have to have someone iron it if I wanted it to be straight. There was a lot of head-burning. And I started craving hair. I wanted to feel like a girl again."
On death scenes:
"I've died many times. I died in Closer, but they changed the ending and, miraculously, I lived. I also died in Star Wars and in Cold Mountain. Death scenes are not more difficult than other scenes. It's much harder to laugh than cry. I find it so hard to fake laughing. I have no laugh except my own, and that laugh is very particular, very modern. It's hard to make any other laugh sound real. It's like sneezing: you really only have one sneeze."

Last night Nick Lachey, Ashley Tisdale and Al Roker hosted the tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center in NYC. The beautifully lit backdrop included performances from Celine Dion, Natasha Bedingfield, Tony Bennett and Josh Groban. NBC star Brooke Shields came out to promote Lipstick Jungle while Jason Lee plugged his family film Alvin and the Chipmunks. The coolest thing about the evening was finding out that this year's tree has "gone green" by using energy-efficient LED lights. What a great new tradition to incorporate this holiday season. Last night was another evening in for Lindsay Lohan, only this time she was (wearing proper pants and) joined by her old BFF, Samantha Ronson, who LL's been spending a whole lot less time around these days. Samantha brought over some take out and hid herself behind a foreign poster for Herbie: Fully Loaded when she tried to sneak back to her car after dinner. While for whatever reason it's always seemed like Samantha isn't the best influence on LL (maybe just that their closest friendship corresponds with Lindsay's wildest times), the new bad behavior rumors have nothing to do with Ronson. Hopefully, Linds getting close with Sam again isn't a bad sign, because it certainly doesn't have to be.
Kirsten Dunst usually has a thing for rock stars, but it sounds like she's been checking out her other options recently. Life & Style is reporting that she went on a date with Kelly Slater at Ago in LA last week. No word of canoodling or getting cozy just yet, but apparently there was plenty of flirting and giggling. Cameron's BFF and rumored flame seems like an odd choice for Kirsten, but she does love her beach fun in his home state of Hawaii. Kirsten may have to slap on some SPF for surf lessons soon.
In less surprising Kirsten news, the actress just signed on to take over as the face of Miu Miu for the Spring campaign. This seems like a more logical fit than jumping onto the water with Kelly Slater, but with quirky Kirsten we never know what to expect.
