George Clooney may have gotten a little banged up in a motorcycle accident less than 2 months ago, but he bravely got back on his bike in LA yesterday. Can't say we blame his girlfriend for wanting to sit this one out. Even though these aren't the hottest pics of him, we're always happy to get a glimpse of sexy George. This week he had to officially surrender his crown as People's Sexiest Man Alive to his buddy Matt Damon. When asked how he felt about it, George was full of his usual jokes. Here are highlights:

• On when he first realized Matt's sexiness:
  "The very first time I noticed was when he was in a green Speedo in The Talented Mr. Ripley. I remember thinking to myself, 'Not since Halle Berry coming out of the water in the Bond film has there been such sexiness. This guy's definitely got what it takes to take home the sash.' But there's a lot that goes into it. He'd come to my house and say, 'Listen, does this move make me sexy?' Brad and I worked with him a lot on his walk and his posture."
• On the benefits of the title:
  "There's a lot of responsibility with this. I believe in the event that he can't serve, the former Sexiest Man can take over, so if he slips up, I'm ready to take back the crown."
• On how he congratulated Matt:
  "I told him this is the next step for him, because after awhile movies get old. How much money and how many accolades do you need? What you really want is this sash and this tiara, and he's got it now and he can retire."

Gotta love that George is able to make fun of himself and his friends on all occasions. We bet that he and Brad will have a lot of fun teasing Matt for at least the next year or so.

The sometimes scruffy Orlando Bloom was a dapper English gentleman out to dinner at Il Sole in LA on Wednesday. Yes, his shirt is a little wrinkly but I guess that's what he's going for and what can I say, he looks hot. Orlando recently contributed a little piece of his handsome to a good cause, he gave a handprint (okay, so it's not that much) to a book called Celebrity Handprints, which will raise money for a London children's hospital. The book will include high fives from other famous Brits, like David Beckham and Keira Knightley. Gotta love Orlando — when he's not hanging out with his dog or his dad, he's thinking about the kids.

Now that Broadway is on strike, Claire Danes is using her time off from starring in Pygmalion to help others in need. Yesterday she helped DonorsChoose.org announce their national expansion. The non-profit helps teachers unite with donors to raise money for public schools, and Claire talked about how important the organization is, saying, "Over the last two years, I have funded many classroom projects on DonorsChoose.org. The creativity of the projects, and the appreciation of the students who benefit, never cease to amaze me." Sounds like Claire has found a way to serve the public as well as making herself feel good, which is the perfect way to give back as far as we're concerned.

Keira Knightley, who isn't a fan of cell phones or BlackBerrys, must feel right at home on the set of The Duchess as an 18th century aristocrat who certainly wasn't bothered by things like technology. Keira was spotted with co-star Dominic Cooper filming in the pretty town of Bath, England. Keira obviously loves her period pieces, and according to her she also quite enjoys making movies that suck. Ha. She recently told TimeOut Chicago:

“I think sometimes, when you know you’re in a hock of s***, you can have more fun because you know it’s going to be s***, whatever, so you’re not kind of straining to give your all,” she says, adding with a slight laugh, “and I’m not saying I’ve ever had that experience. I’m just saying I hear that that’s the way it goes.”

Ha, well, at least Miss Potty Mouth is having fun no matter what. Speaking of which, there was no Rupert in sight, sadly, to make (or make-out with) Keira happy on the set, but that blanket looks like a pretty cozy substitute for the brisk Fall day.

Last night Britney was driving around with Jayden James and sleepy Sean Preston, but it looks like that will be the last time we'll see her with the boys in the backseat for awhile. Kevin's lawyers took her to court again today and this time she lost her privileges to drive with her kids in the car after running a red light last week. Things just keep getting worse for Britney's custody battle, but we have to say that we're relieved that someone is looking out for her boys and their safety.
