David Beckham looks all suave on the cover of the Arena Magazine issue honoring Britain's most powerful men under 40. Becks nabbed the top spot and this weekend he'll be using his power for good playing in a charity soccer game with the Galaxy to benefit people affected by the recent Southern California wildfires. In the magazine he opened up about his friendships with other Hollywood couples like the Cruises and the Lopez-Anthonys. Oh, and he talks about how much he loves his life with Victoria. Get ready to swoon. Here are highlights:
On life with Victoria: "We do romantic things every day - write notes, make breakfast for each other. Something will happen every day that is romantic. Some people will be going 'yuck' at all this...We were lucky to have wanted the same things in life - to have kids young and be adventurous."
On Tom and Katie (and Scientology): "We respect their religion. We respect everything they do and believe in. But they have never turned around to us and said, 'You have to be a part of this', because that's not what they're about. It's never been about that. There's been nothing shoved down our throats because friends don't do things like that. They are amazing people who are just so positive about life and they have been great to us."
On Mark and Jennifer: "We talk about all sorts. What's happening that week, that day. What Jennifer's up to, what Victoria's up to. I speak to him at least three or four times a week."
Okay, no yucks here, only one big awwwwww! He and Victoria seem so genuinely in love it's hard not to just adore them together. It's also pretty freaking adorable how much he gushes about his friends, right? For a man with such famously chiseled features, he seems like such a softie deep down.
Jessica Simpson was showing off her amazing legs and gaping mouth in LA last week and rumor has it there may be a new man responsible for that smile. Owen Wilson and Jessica got to hang out at Willie Nelson's lawn-mower race last week, and now sources are saying that these two had their first date on Sunday night. We're not sure if we really believe these two are dating yet, but tell us — do you think Jessica and Owen would make a cute couple?
Last night Britney Spears was ready to celebrate. She took her Halloween spirit beyond her pumpkin-decorated car and got into a skimpy costume — clearly she has a thing for pirate attire. Apparently Brit even tried to make a special appearance at the Virgin Megastore for the official midnight release of her album, and even though most of you weren't running out to get a copy of Blackout, the parking lot was so packed that she gave up when she couldn't find a spot. From there Britney stopped off at Les Deux and, of course, went through a few costume changes. The judge's custody ruling is expected later today and while the parent coach's testimony was apparently mixed, her lawyer is confident that it will return to 50/50 custody. Sounds like this big day for Britney is just getting started.
Instead of heading home for the night, she headed to Winstons with Allie, only to get pulled over on the way out for an undisclosed minor infraction. All in all, it sounds like a pretty standard night for Britney and we'll cut her some slack this time since she just wanted to have some fun and celebrate the release of her new album.
The Hills Fashion Quiz: Episode 12 "Stress And The City" Last night's The Hills was one of my favorites because it was less about boys and more about what we crave: fashion. And boy did LC and Whitney look stylish on their quick trip to NYC. Whitney's saucy sweetheart dress wowed everyone, including Lisa Love...and that's no easy feat.
After a weekend of Halloween partying with all the celebrities at Kate Hudson's party, Ashley Olsen was off to NYC to meet up with her dad, Danny Tanner. Ashley and Bob Saget grabbed dinner at Manhattan's The Spotted Pig last night, obviously giving their fellow diners a pretty awesome celebrity sighting. While I'm not sure that Bob Saget is one for fatherly advice these days (um, have you seen his stand-up?), I'm sure he'll always have a special place as a mentor in the Olsens' hearts. Maybe next time they can bring along DJ or Stephanie? Uncle Joey or Jesse? Comet even?
Angelina put on her red lips and fur coat once again to work on The Changeling with Clint in LA yesterday. She looks great in character, but we have to say that we'd rather see Angie and Mad heading to school every day (or buying toys!) than on the set.
