Eva Mendes everywhere! These past couple of days have been Eva central around here as she goes around premiering and promoting We Own The Night, including last night's stop off at Letterman. Of course, she looked fab, especially in her hot Zac Posen number. Costarring with handsome men of the Joaquin/Mark W. caliber might get a little intimidating for a girl (even one as gorgeous as Eva), but she recently told the LA Times that she was more concerned with her appearance showing up for the rehearsals for The Women. BTW, have you seen the cast of that movie? So many women! Anyway, Eva said:
"I've got to tell you, I came from working on 'We Own the Night,' which was an all-male cast, into working on 'The Women,'...You would think I would be wanting to look good at rehearsals for the boys, but I never cared more about how I looked than with the girls. We would all come in our cutest casual outfits at rehearsal, and we would spend the first 15 minutes complimenting each other...It was total camaraderie. We were so there for each other."
So true that girls dress up for girls more than guys a lot of the time, but I doubt there's ever a moment where Eva looks like less than perfection. As for that huge cast of women — must have been a blast and I can't wait to see them all together on film! In the celebrity world we know how important the hairstylist is to an a-list star. They act as their BFF, their shoulder to cry on and of course, make them beautiful. Jennifer, Jessica and Eva have all expressed their loyalty to their men behind the scenes. Now Kate Moss is partnering with her long time stylist (from since she was 15!!!), James Brown, to launch a line of hair care products. Considering how successful her modeling career and her Topshop line have been we bet this venture will take off as well, which is a good thing for Kate since she has a personal stake in the company. As expected (but still unfortunately) Reese and Jake keep their maybe-lationship a question mark, avoiding each other on the red carpet at last night's L.A. Rendition premiere. On the day that her divorce was finalized, she had a subdued Reese smile on her face — but we all know she's tougher than letting anything get to her in public. She kept it predictable and pretty in a little strapless cocktail number while Jake should really really shave that beard soon. Maybe for that upcoming space movie, he needs to be a scruffy astronaut? Rendition doesn't come out for another week, but if that somehow leads to more of these ones on the red carpet, sounds good to me. Maybe, just maybe Reese and Jake are inching closer to one another at these events? Yeah, right.
Madonna looked typically hyperfit decked out in her tracksuit, vitamin water and Bose headphones leaving the gym in New York yesterday afternoon. While London has been her home for some time, Manhattan will always be quintessentially Madonna and yesterday NYC was the locale for starting a new chapter in her career. Madge is reportedly in the works to leave Warner Brothers, her record label for the past 25 years and sign a ten year $120 million recording/touring/merchandising deal with Live Nation, which up until now primarily promotes live events. Good for Madonna, especially since she's hurting for cash these days, ah, kidding. It's not like Madonna makes many bad career decisions, so hopefully this will just mean more from the queen of pop for years to come.
I know - it's blown way out of proportion, but seriously, when Angelina wears color it's somehow breaking news. Thrilling, isn't it? We love to see her branching out but we're not so sure this horrible shade of green is doing much for her. Maddox kept it simple in his white button down, not that he really has a choice at his fancy French school. We can't help but wonder how much longer we'll get to see Mad and his mohawk after class if those moving to the South of France rumors have any truth to them. We hope they are not about to leave the states again. We feel like they just got settled in.
This will be the first time that Britney herself will appear in court in this ongoing custody battle, which is definitely a step in the right direction after missing last week's hearing. She's also passed multiple drug tests (not to mention stayed out of the clubs for a little while), so maybe a week without her kids was enough to snap her into shape. That being said, her family has been let down by her enough times it wouldn't be surprising if the judge isn't ready to trust her yet.
