Kate Moss looked effortlessly cool leaving her London flat yesterday afternoon. While we would love to have her look (check it out after the jump), some people aren't happy with some of her recent modeling work. Well, Kate herself didn't do anything wrong, but Rimmel is in hot water for their recent mascara ads starring Miss Moss. The Advertising Standards Authority is calling out the makeup company for using fake eyelashes in the ads, just like L'Oreal was reprimanded for their Penelope ads last month. Whoops. In other Kate-related news (thankfully not as much anymore), Pete Doherty has quickly moved on and is now engaged to model Irina Lazareanu. They've known each other for years, so hopefully she knows what she is getting into — as for Kate's end, good riddance.

Natalie Portman looked adorable in her LBD giving a talk at Stanford in Palo Alto yesterday. She had a huge grin on her face, but the subject matter was definitely serious —she talked to the students about global poverty and her Village Banking Campaign, which she launched back in May. We bet lots of students came out to see Natalie, and hopefully they also learned something about doing good in the process.

We love that Natalie keeps a good balance between philanthropy and acting, so we're excited that she signed on for another movie. Next up is Brothers with Tobey Magurie and Jakey G. Sounds like an awesome cast and of course since Natalie and Jakey G are old friends who may or may not have dated - we're expecting more rumors to surface once they start shooting.

Ryan Gosling got all spiffed up for the prom LA premiere of Lars and the Real Girl last night. What can I say, the man loves himself a unique gray suit, but sadly (oooor happily) he left his fancy tuxedo shirt at home this time. Love love love Ryan on screen and can't wait to see him in this quirky film, but I do wish that he would bring Rachel on the red carpet with him more often. I guess she's busy hanging out in wedding gowns up in Toronto, but just the hope that the cutest couple ever are still on is good enough. Plus, on Ryan's arm last night was once again his sister, awww, can't help but love such a family man.
