Mandy Moore may have been wearing an oversized cardigan, but she still managed to look cute signing autographs for fans in LA last night. Something about Mandy is always the sweetest ever, but she's taking on the role of badass for How I Met Your Mother. I adored her on Scrubs, so I can't wait to see her on TV again. Plus, even the preview of her alongside NPH is legen-wait for it and I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the next half is-dary. Yays.
George Clooney was looking as Manjoyable as ever in his tuxedo at the premiere of Michael Clayton in Venice today. We often wonder how George manages to stay so gorgeous as he ages, but apparently it's not his fitness that is keeping him in business. When asked about his exercise regimen, he said, "Well, we do a lot of aerobics and a lot of dance; a lot of jazzercize, a lot of, what's that, ab-master, butt-blaster? Yeah, that's it." Leave it to George to never take anything seriously.
Jude was still showing off that aggressive tan alongside Michael Caine and director Kenneth Branagh at the Venice Film Festival premiere of Sleuth last night. Hey, at least he found himself some more appropriate footwear. The film is a remake of a 1972 thriller of the same name, and Jude had some self-deprecating words on acting in a new take on a well-loved classic. He said, "From my experience (Alfie) did not quite work out the way I had wanted it to, but you know part of the reason you embark on a creative journey sometimes is to fall flat ... and sometimes the fall leads to a triumph." Well, I think we can all agree that Alfie was pretty terrible, so pretty much anything will be an upgrade from that.
This summer may have felt a little slow as far as celebrity gossip is concerned, but looking back we realize that the last few months weren't without some fun goodies and a few juicy stories. With Labor Day upon us and the feeling that summer is coming to a close, we want to know - what was your favorite summer celebrity story?
Keira went for a romantic dinner with Rupert after the premiere of Atonement in Venice. It's amazing how different she looked at this premiere compared to the Pirate's one last summer. Keira and Rupert are pretty much inseparable when she isn't filming, but that doesn't mean she can't still appreciate another on-screen lover. She said: "James [McAvoy] is the best kisser ever!" Keira has locked lips with the likes of Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Clive Owen so that's a pretty big compliment for her latest co-star, James. We don't think Rupert was upset by her comments since it's obvious he's the only one Keira wants to take with her on long walks around London.
Mary-Kate Olsen looked remarkably normal (and awesome) leaving the salon yesterday afternoon. A bag she couldn't physically climb into! Flip-flops! Nicely done hair! So many golf claps and proud mom smiles for her. I'm still waiting patiently for her Weeds debut, but it looks like she's not the only Olsen twinsie brushing up her Michelle Tanner acting chops! Ashley just signed on for a movie role alongside Billy Bob Thornton and Kim Basinger in The Informers. So much Olsen! Loves it.
In this week's Gossip Girl, Blair Waldorf demonstrates that there's nothing like a red sparkly dress to make you stand out at a party. Although her exact Marchesa dress isn't available online, this one is quite similar.
