Now that the summer has come to an end, Jake Gyllenhaal's vacation on the vineyard is over and he's back to business in LA. It looks like his time spent relaxing in the sun was good for him - he's looking refreshed and cuter than ever. Of course, we have to mention that perhaps his glow is due to all the secret rendezvous he may or may not be having with Reese. Jake isn't the only member of the Gyllenhaal family that is looking hot lately - have you seen Maggie's sexy lingerie ads for Agent Provocateur? She's no Kate Moss but she's looking great. Unfortunately for Jake it might be just a bit more than her little brother needs to see when he opens up a magazine.

Britney was still attached at the hip with Criss in LA on Monday. The new rumor about them is they did hook up, Criss is mostly using Brit for publicity (duh) and ignores her when they go out. Also, that the VMA performance isn't as illusion-filled as we've been hearing - thanks for nothing, Criss. We're only days away from seeing for ourselves, but new tracks are still being "leaked" all the time. Rumor has it that these songs (I assume other than Gimme More, which is her legit single) were recorded back in 2005 and were never going to make the new album. Instead, Vibe records just wanted to create buzz, get Britney fans used to her new sound...and most of all excited to have her back!

Yesterday in Brit's Legal world, she was granted a continuance in her custody battle meaning their next hearing isn't until November. Plus, there will be no endangerment charges brought against the pop tart by child services. Unfortunately her bodyguard isn't as lucky - he is having charges pressed against him for hitting a paparazzi in Vegas at the end of July.

NY Fashion Week officially kicked off last night with the "Une Journe A Paris" party hosted by Van Cleef & Arpels at Hammerstein Ballroom. The party had a Paris theme, complete with French band The Plasticines and cabaret dancers. This is just the first of many NY Fashion Week events -- and our girls are there for all the action! Don't miss Fab & Bella's coverage both on their sites and Elle.com! Demi, SMG & Mischa were just a few of the lucky attendees last night, all looking amazing might I add. SMG mentioned that she'd owned her dress for a while but this was her first time wearing it. She said,

"I've had this Chanel dress for a while but never had occasion to wear it. I thought tonight was a great excuse. You know, they're always talking about the romance of Paris, but the last time i was there it was a girlfriends trip and I had so much fun."

Oh you know, just some Chanel lying around -- lucky girl.

Fresh off their trip to Deauville, Brad and Mad spent some father/son quality time cheering on the Yankees yesterday with Spike Lee and his little one. Brad stayed with his usual newsboy cap but sprung for a Yankees cap for Maddox, who is looking too cute with his missing front teeth. It looks like Brad even managed to pull some strings to score a bat and ball for Maddox from Derek Jeter himself. Sounds like the perfect outing.

Jude Law looked pretty pissy on the phone in London Monday, and the next day his mood went from bad to worse. Last night he turned himself in for arrest after beating up a paparazzi outside of his home. According to the report, Jude assaulted the photographer and accused him of only wanting shots of his children, despite the fact that the man wasn't taking pictures at the moment. I assume Jude recognized the man from earlier incidents, which set him off. Jude's lawyer just issued the following statement:

"I can confirm that Jude Law voluntarily attended Marylebone Police Station yesterday following an alleged incident outside his house earlier in the day. Mr. Law provided the police with a statement regarding his denials of allegations by a 'paparazzi' photographer against him and made his own allegations concerning the photographer. Jude has the utmost respect for the police and whilst this is an ongoing matter no further comment will be made."

This isn't the first time the actor has been accused of getting angry at a paparazzi and I certainly can't blame Jude for being frustrated with constantly being followed. That being said, violence is pretty much always a bad call. Jude was released on bail and his court date is set for October.
