Friday morning, Fergie kicked off Good Morning America's annual Concerts In The Park series by strutting her stuff on stage in some seriously high metallic heels. Call me crazy, but I think she looks just darling in her little short shorts ensemble. I love seeing Fergs up on stage (and obviously working on her fitness), but I'm really hoping she gets all red carpet glammed up to accompany her extremely hot Boy of Summer for his Transformers premieres. Who knows what kind of crazy ensemble she would pull out for that.
Keira has won a suit against British tabloid The Daily Mail for an article in which the magazine accused her of causing the death of a 19-year old girl who died from anorexia. The article showed a picture of Keira in a bikini paired with a headline that read, ""If Pictures Like This One of Keira Carried a Health Warning, My Darling Daughter Might Have Lived." She of course sued them and the court ruled with her, awarding her $5,965 in damages. She plans to match that amount and donate all the money to BEAT, a charity that helps people with eating disorders. Kate Winslet just made a donation with the award money she won in a similar lawsuit. It's got to be so hard to be constantly scrutinized by the press but these ladies are definitely good at turning a bad situation around.
Yay! More new photos from Ocean's Thirteen. Between these and the trailer, I feel like I've seen the whole movie but that's not going to stop me from seeing it next month. Apparently the cast stayed somewhat in character in Cannes. They even pulled an Ocean's like hoax on their guests following the big premiere. Evidently the guests were invited to an after party but arrived to find the Ocean's men had already supposedly come and gone. Brad, George and the rest of the guys walked the red carpet and then had the real party elsewhere. I would expect nothing less from this group who probably wanted a more intimate gathering anyway but what a bummer for those hoping to rub elbows with the cast.
Never one to lay low, Lindsay was seen the other day at The Ivy with the most obnoxiously large LV bag ever made. She must be hiding her alcohol in there since the under 21 year old was just busted for DUI early Saturday morning. X17 first reported the news and includes a time line of her partying throughout the evening. The night ended in a car accident at 5:30 am. AP reports:
Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said.
"She was cited and released because she has been admitted to a local hospital for minor injuries," Foxen said.
No one else was hurt and no other cars were involved, Foxen said. He did not have other details.
Clearly rehab and AA is not working for this starlet and it's only a matter of time before she self destructs. It's a shame her friends and family can't help her realize how sick she is. Hopefully she will be joining Paris in jail so these young starlets can learn that drinking and driving is not a joke.
As we mentioned with the photocall pics, it's so great to see Joaquin Phoenix with a smile on his face. He just lights up! Very cute, a far cry from his Walk the Line brooding. As for Eva, she glows no matter what she's wearing, but she looked especially stunning at the premiere of their movie, We Own the Night. When asked about filming her very first on screen sex scene with one Mr. Phoenix, Eva had this to say:
"I wasn't comfortable at all. They were very sweet and they poured me a vodka and orange juice and then I was fine. I'm very professional and I don't usually drink on the job but that morning I had a little vodka and OJ."...Asked if it helped to think it was her character and not her up there, Mendes said: "My boob is still my boob." She paused, then added: "Wow, that sounded really stupid."
First sex scene ever alongside Joaquin? Not a bad gig. Unfortunately Cannes is winding down, but hopefully there will be at least one more big party to bring all these beautiful folks together. Or at the very least a little more Joaquin? Is that too much to ask?
Jessica is back in LA and working on getting in shape for her latest film. Expect to see her Duke's body back soon. Too bad it's not enough to get a certain a-list actor's attention. Rumor is she set her sights on Leonardo DiCaprio at a yacht party while at Cannes. The admiration, however, was not mutual. She "spent the whole night following Leonardo DiCaprio around like a lost puppy," Page Six reports, "He just seemed freaked out and kind of ignored her." This story just sounds so hilarious to me. Oh well. Poor Jess. Looks like she'll have to hope things with her and John work out again.
