While it sort of looks like Fergie is walking into oncoming traffic, rest assured she stayed safe walking the streets of LA this week. Fergs was on her way out of a meeting at the Beit T'Shuvah Center, a rehab facility centered around Judaism. No word as to what she was doing at the center, but I do hope all is well with the Fergs and her loved ones. Last we saw Fergie she was dancing and singing (though not really at the same time -- not really her forte) on American Idol. Rumor has it that "live" performance was actually taped and took 18 takes. Whoops!
I hope those of you who don't normally vote decided to pick up the phone last night to help Idol give back. Thanks to the big sponsors like Coke, Ford, News Corp and AT&T they paid millions in donations based on our calls. I am an avid viewer of the show but I normally never vote... until last night. Kudos to Idol for finally giving back. Simon we couldn't love your softer side more!
As for the contestants, Blake attempted Imagine. It was good but too big for him. As always Melinda was one of my top choices. This week Jordin pulls ahead for closing the show with some excitement but more importantly, she let her hair be naturally curly. That's all I asked of her to do for weeks now and she finally did, so yay!
Last night Vantiy Fair helped kick off the Tribeca Film Festival with a party attended by a variety of big names. Robert De Niro and David Bowie were among those who flashed big smiles for the cameras, but apparently there is a fair amount of tension between these two under the surface. It seems that De Niro is not a big fan of Bowie's High Line Festival, which is set to start just three days after Tribeca ends and is catered towards a younger crowd. Here's more:
But a source at the Tribeca festival sniffed to Page Six: "I think they are envisioning themselves as Slamdance to our Sundance and living off the success of Sundance."
Some High Liners believe De Niro has already sabotaged them by keeping Tribeca's public relations team, Rubenstein Communications, from doing press for High Line, the Web site reports. De Niro's flack had no comment. But one longtime De Niro pal insisted, "He could care less."
Rubenstein Communications President Steven Rubenstein denies there's any feud, adding that Bowie was set to attend last night's Tribeca kickoff party sponsored by Vanity Fair. Bowie told us in a statement: "I am afraid I have no control over the inexplicable comments from the High Line producers. I think the Tribeca Film Festival is unique and irreplaceable."
Seems like a lot of fuss over nothing. Besides, Robert should have nothing to worry about, it is his festival that's premiering Spider-man 3, which is sure to be a huge hit!
Angelina has filed papers to add Brad's surname to Pax's so that his full name would be Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt. No surprise there. - People
Rumor has it Anderson Cooper wears boxer briefs while showering at the gym to keep NSFW pictures of him in his birthday suit from appearing on the internet. We're surprised the boxer brief showering ones haven't been leaked already. - Page Six
Heather Mills surprised everyone but herself last night when she was booted off Dancing with the Stars. We can't believe she made it this far. - US Weekly
Alec Baldwin dumped his agents at CAA for personal reasons. What, did they not pick up the phone when he called? - AP
LL Cool J is in talks to play Brick in a revival of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof direct by Debbie Allen. Stage acting is definitely the thing to do these days. - Page Six
As rumored, this morning Rosie announced that she will be leaving The View. Obviously, Donald has already called into any radio show that will have him and claimed responsibility for her "firing" (though that's not how the girls positioned her departure). Below is the clip of her announcement. It's sweet, and then it gets annoying...and then Rosie plugs her blog...and then she tries to pick food out of Barbara's teeth. Naturally. Here are Rosie and Barbara's official statements:
From Rosie: "This has been an amazing experience, and one I wouldn't have traded for the world. Working with Barbara, Joy and Elisabeth has been one of the highlights of my career, but my needs for the future just didn't dovetail with what ABC was able to offer me. To all the viewers out there, I just want to say 'thank you' for opening up your hearts and your homes to me this past year. But you can always find me at rosie.com. Here's hoping there's more confetti for all of us going forward."
From Barbara: "I induced Rosie to come back to television on 'The View' even for just one year. She has given the program new vigor, new excitement and wonderful hours of television. I can only be grateful to her for this year. I am very sad that ABC Daytime could not reach an agreement with her for a second year. We will all miss Rosie on 'The View,' and hope she will be back with us often next season. She remains for me a cherished friend and colleague."
As if that's not an exciting enough week on The View, the girls have lined up a doozy of a guest for Friday. Alec Baldwin himself will be coming on the show to discuss "parental alienation." That should be interesting.
Another day another Britney post. Sure, she's getting a little overplayed, but she's too hard to ignore. As always, girlfriend is everywhere. Since we last checked in with her abs, Britney spent some more time at the ol' Millennium dance center and logging in hours at the recording studio with her old friend producer JR Rotem. If you don't remember Rotem, no biggie, she made out with him for a little back in January. You know, pre-Isaac Cohen, post BFFness with Paris. The two are working together on her upcoming release, but there's no ETA on that yet. While it is good to see Miss Brit with a smile on her face, it would be nice to see those cute little boys of hers in the backseat every once in a while. Preferably in car seats. I kid, I kid.
Las Vegas is always a great place to spot celebs these days. In fact, one of our users, ktomala22, spotted Jon Bon Jovi when she was out on the town with a bachelorette party in sin city. Turns out Jon was just as sweet as he seems and even stopped for a photo op with the bride to be!
We always love hearing about your celebrity sightings, so if you've got a good story to share, be sure to post it in our group.
Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
