As an unabashed Zooey Deschanel fan, I just love these pictures of her on the pages of the most recent issue of Lula Magazine. She's equal parts adorable, quirky and beautiful with a little bit of her trademark spirit-animal loving whimsy (yes, I know that was a character, but you just know she believes in her spirit turtle, too). I can't wait to see more of Zooey on Weeds, but sadly her next exciting role may be a little ways off. Zooey signed on to play Janis Joplin in an upcoming biopic about the singer, but the project has been temporarily delayed. Sad. Well, whenever it decides to come out, I'm looking forward to hearing more of Zooey's singing on the big screen and seeing a little bit of her dark side (she's gotta have one) come through, too.

Hilary hit up Glendale for a little shopping expedition the other day. While having a bank account like Hilary's would certainly be nice, there are other aspects of fame that are far less appealing. On the eve of her new album, Dignity's release, Hilary talked to Britain's Mail on Sunday about the ups and downs of become a woman while the whole world watches on. Here are highlights:

- On Growing Up: 'As I become more mature, my tastes and interests change. Like, so many people have watched me grow up, and I find it really weird when they say to me 'tell us about your new look.' I'm, like, what new look? It's just me growing and getting more confident about my style.''
- On Shopping: "I can't go more than about 72 hours without shopping, but I don't think I'm excessive."
- On The Britney/Christina Shock Appeal: 'Know what? That's not really my style,' she says forcefully. 'I'm going to work really hard to stay successful and appeal to as many different people as I can, but I know there's always going to be someone younger and cooler coming after me, just like I took over from the one before me. And if it doesn't work,' she shrugs, 'I guess I'm going to have to think harder and maybe try something else.'
- On Her Weight Loss: 'I did get skinny,' she concedes. 'I've felt that pressure like everyone else in my position has. When a paper comes out that says 'Duff Puff - she must have gained 15 pounds,' or something like that, how would any normal person react? It's so mean, but everyone keeps buying that stuff and talking about it, so it's not going to go away.'
While we worry about the pressures put on all of our favorite starlets, Hilary seems to have emerged with a level head on her tiny shoulders. Seems like someone still has her dignity all right.

Tobey Maguire demonstrated some inventive freestyle baby holding in Malibu with his adorable family this weekend. Little Ruby doesn't seem to mind much about being carried like a football though. In fact, the three of them are really quite precious and is it just me or is Tobey looking better than ever? It's a wonder what holding an adorable little baby will do for a man.

Ginnifer, Ali, and Kirsten were among the celebs who flocked to the Imitation of Christ fashion show in LA last night. The starlets were in surprisingly light-hearted spirits considering the runway was littered with bones (eew). Heck, Kirsten looks downright giddy (maybe drunk) at the after party! Perhaps that has something to do with her awesome new movie role...or finding herself a new shaggy haired rocker type; she was supposedly seen making out with Razorlight frontman Johnny Borell this weekend at SXSW. Judging from her recent choice in men (Fab especially) she does love herself a floppy-locked rocker, so this dude sounds right up her alley. Who knows, maybe she scored herself something hot for her next rock star rendezvous at the show.

Lindsay continued her string of interesting fashion choices with this Punky Brewster meets Michael Jackson pink striped glove (but we'll give her props for keeping her shirt buttoned). Between that and her insatiable thirst, Lindsay has been attracting lots of media attention in NYC this week. The paparazzi aren't the only ones who are noticing her either - apparently Wilmer Valderrama tried to re-kindle their old flame with a little karaoke serenading the other night. Here's more:

"He tried to talk to her, but she didn't have much time for him," noted our spywitness. "Then he grabbed a microphone and said, 'Lindsay, this is for you.'"
In front of the packed house, Valderrama sang these lyrics from Matchbox 20's "Back 2 Good:"
"Just stand there/I could say so much
But I don't go there cuz I don't want to I was thinking if you were lonely Maybe we could leave here and no one would know
... I'm lonely now and I don't know how to get it back to good."
After the guy sang his heart out, Lohan, now sitting at a table with five pals, including Samantha Ronson, yelled out for all to hear:
"It's too late!" Oh. No. You. Dih-int. "Wilmer tried to take it like a man," says our clubgoer. "But he left a few minutes later. He headed up to PM."
Usually LL loves some male attention, but apparently Wilmer is not hot enough for her these days. Maybe next time he should try striking up a conversation about common interests - like amateur DJing perhaps?
