Lindsay Lohan obviously does a fine job of drawing media attention on her own, but it looks like she's getting a little competition from Dina. In what we can only think of as an ill-thought out move, Harper's decided to devote an entire article in its most recent issue to LL's mother/manager/self-proclaimed "sister." Needless to say, Dina didn't hold back. Here are highlights:
On Paparazzi: "Look at me. Diana will happen again."
On Lindsay Being an Alcoholic: "We're just so misunderstood," she said, adding that her cocktail-tippling daughter is not an alcoholic. "Noooo! She is just a 20-year-old who had to reel it in," she said, apparently forgetting that the legal drinking age is 21. "And she's from an addictive personality genetically. And in that world, they give you things like candy. Hurt your ankle? 'Let's give her something.' "
On Lying About Being Lindsay's Mom: The elder Lohan said she sometimes introduces herself as her daughter's personal assistant. She even once lied about her identity to George Clooney. "I don't want them to know I'm her mom," she said. "It's a whole 'nother demographic. People just go dark."
On The Starlet Elite: "Some of these kids are just lost," she said. "They're the American dream," she also said. "They're the Trumps of the little world, these kids."
On Going Out: "If you can button it and clip it when you're in your 40s, you're going out," she said as she put her hand in the air to solicit a high-five from the Harper's reporter.
It's a little scary to see how jaded Dina Lohan really is when it comes to her daughter - did she really just admit to giving her Lindsay painkillers? Perhaps Dina should spend less time tanning/clubbing/doing sexy photo shoots and spend a little more time being the mother that Lindsay (and her three siblings) obviously need.
We knew Kate was changing things up for her role in the upcoming film Winged Creatures, but we didn't realize it included such a drastic dye job. From the looks of it she's playing a diner waitress in the movie -- a far cry from her ass-kicking Underworld days! We can't wait to see what Kate has in store next, though we gotta say we hope she returns to her natural gorgeous brown locks soon. Something about Kate as a blonde just isn't sitting right!
Nicole Richie continues to be plagued by health issues on the set of The Simple Life. A few weeks back it was dehydration that took down the diminutive starlet, but it seems like she still can't stay on her two feet. Sources are saying that she has "had trouble walking and speaking clearly on set." Then last week she reportedly collapsed on location in Malibu and had to retire to her trailer for the remainder of the day. Among others, this behavior apparently isn't going over so well with her co-star Paris. Now, Nicole's rep is saying that Nic suffers from hypoglycemia which can cause dizzyness, fainting and other symptoms when blood sugar gets too low. Hopefully now that she's got a diagnosis, the starlet can get herself eating a little more often and avoid any other health scares!
Isla Fisher certainly looked the part of the sexy siren at the premiere of her new film The Lookout last night. Her fiance, Sacha Baron Cohen, was also on hand, but managed to elude photographers and let Isla shine on her big night. Rather than stay home and watch Dirt, Courteney was out on the red carpet too, perhaps the girls stayed in touch after the Borat premiere? Unfortunately it looks like the film's leading man, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, looks like he had a bit of an accident before the big night.
The thriller film stars Joseph as a mentally impaired janitor who is sucked into a bank heist. Isla plays his bad girl love interest, which is a little different than her hilarious character in Wedding Crashers, but we're sure she was up for the task.
Our (okay, my) prayers have been answered: Mary-Kate's hair color disaster has been fixed and, for once, her locks look healthy. Plus, it looks like she's leaving the salon with some Kerastase products, so that hair situation may finally be under control. Sure, she's wearing what is probably a size small sweater as a dress and enormous bondage-y shoes, but there's nothing outwardly crazy here! Honestly though, it warms my heart to see her not hiding as much; perhaps she's getting a little more confident with herself these days.
I am starting to fade on Idol this season. I was a fan early on but this group is losing my interest. Clearly the most hilarious part of the night was Sanjaya's rocking performance with cute fan, Ashley in tears. Of course Simon made a joke about it but we couldn't agree more with him that her expression was how we were all feeling. The only 4 worth watching each week are Chris Sligh, Blake (who is clearly nothing without his dance moves and beatbox effects), LaKish and Melinda. We might as well skip to the final 4. Rihanna bundled up for her appearance on The Late Show and looked perfectly chic while waving to her New York fans. She kept things simple in all black but mixed patterns and textures to create a unique look.
