Aww, you'd begun to think we'd fallen out of love with Victoria Beckham, didn't you? It's been over a week since we last checked in with our for-the-moment flaxen haired clothes horse and look! She's just as cute as ever! While David was off visiting his Soccer Academy, Posh did what Posh does (shopped). Meanwhile, Victoria's enormous ring? Yup, still shockingly enormous. Phew.
Justin managed to get away from his FutureSex/LoveTour long enough to do a photoshoot and interview for the April cover of Details Magazine. He looks dapper, as usual, in the pics, but inside the article it's clear that some of the pressures are starting to get to him. A far cry from the doe eyed boyband star, Justin voices his frustration about the Grammys, the media, and the pressures of being a pop idol. Here are highlights:
On the tabloids: "I despise what they do. They create soap operas out of people's lives. [Britney and I] had our thing, and it's over. They edit that stuff like MTV edits reality shows. It's a spin game, and I choose not to take part in it."
On being considered the New King of Pop: "I tried so hard to be an R&B artist [with first solo album Justified] and it was the pop album of the year, and I was like, 'Fuck. That's the last thing I wanted but I was like, 'So everyone considers me a pop artist? Well, fuck it. I'm going to do whatever I want to do."
On surviving the boy-band apocalypse and becoming a man: "I could give you a bunch of analogies about why I'm still around that would sound like hippie self-help bullshit. 'I saw an opportunity and I took it?' Fuck you. Sure, there's a lot of luck involved. But on some level I have to believe in my ability. And I'm not apologizing to anyone. I worked fucking hard to get here."
On being used by the Grammys for ratings: "I'm the nice guy who follows through on the things he commits to. But I don't know if I'll be going through that sort of thing again. I feel like the Grammys used me for ratings. And look at it-they were up 18 percent."
Usually we've got nothing but love for JT, but he sure does sound a bit cocky (not to mention crabby) here. He clearly works hard and his talents are more than worthy of the attention he gets, but where's the sweet Southern boy who takes his mom to awards shows? And ripping on the Grammys? Careful Justin - don't bite the hand that feeds you!
Alas, all good things come to an end. But really, this is just the beginning for Madonna's new collection for H&M because it will be in stores this Thursday! I have given you a sneak peek at the accessories and the "lights" and I saved the best for last - the "darks."
According to the grand dame, she "wanted something casual but naughty, sensible but sexy. That's me. That's how I am. I wanted the collection to be for a working girl." Yep, I would say that describes the collection. With friendly fabrics like jersey, cotton poplin, leather and Lycra we can all strike a pose in any of these garments.
You will see influences of 70s disco dresses and leather jackets, 80s dancewear, kimonos and sharp tailoring - all subtly screaming Madonna. Madonna relayed "This is a combination of outfits I would love to wear. Bits and pieces have been inspired by the outfits in my own wardrobe, and also by what I love..."
And what do we love? Madonna & her gift to us of beautiful clothes at affordable prices!
Paris hit the runway at LA Fashion Week last night to support her old friends at 2BFree and their brightly colored lounge wear. Wheee! Sidekicks newer, older and hopefully never again (Elisha, Brandon, Hayden respectively) were all in the front row to support the heiress. Even reformed sidekick Tara Reid was in the house. Unforch, perennial sidekick Nicole was not around to share in the fun. Perhaps she wasn't interested in scoring any free neon leggings. Can't imagine why not.
David Beckham stopped by his soccer school in Bristol yesterday to meet some students and announce his newest venture. As part of The David Beckham Academies in LA and England, he's launching a new educational website called School Zone which provides soccer coaching advice to teachers and kids. We love that David has gone beyond just being a player to actually teaching and creating a worldwide company to make soccer more popular. This, combined with hearing about how he romanced Posh last week, makes the man even sexier! He scores big time with us.
Back in February we told you who was cast as the next Mr. & Mrs. Smith for the TV version. The first episodes have begun filming with Jordana Brewster and Martin Henderson in the title roles. We know Brad & Angie's shoes are tough to fill, but we have to admit that this younger, more brunette duo is an interesting change. What do you think - Is the Mr. & Mrs. Smith TV series worth your time?
Rihanna bundled up for her appearance on The Late Show and looked perfectly chic while waving to her New York fans. She kept things simple in all black but mixed patterns and textures to create a unique look.
