Jess and John may be giving Jim and Jenny (hey look! J names!) a run for their money on most fabulous couple hair these days. The flowing Simpson/Mayer manes reconvened in New York last night for John's MSG show. Afterwards the two headed off for club Stereo, with Alicia Keys (who joined John on stage for a bit) and Papa Joe Simpson (nooooooo) in tow. I just hope, for Jess' sake, that her dad keeps his hands out of this relationship. Girl does not need another 'ship sunk by her grubby pawed father. Seriously, someone give that man a hobby other than meddling in his daughters' love lives. On an attempting to ignore Joe note, John and Jess look happy!

There are certainly moments when we wish we never again had to write about Paris' birthday parties, kinkajou attacks, or petty feuds. Apparently, we're not the only ones. Recently the Associated Press got so sick of writing about the heiress that they banned her completely from the newswire. In a Feb. 13th email that leaked out, entertainment editor Jesse Washington told his coworkers:
“Next week the print team is planning an unconventional experiment: We are NOT going to cover Paris Hilton.
“Barring any major, major news, we are not going to put a single word about Paris on the wire,” the memo continued. “If something does come up, big or small, we encourage discussions on whether we should write about it.”
“Hopefully we will be able to discuss what ‘news’ we missed...the repercussions of our blackout for AP both editorially and business-wise, and most importantly the force that cause the world to be fixated on this person who, despite her shallow frivolity, represents an epochal development in our culture.”
Obviously the boycott didn't last very long. They were forced to give up their dreams of a Paris-free press when she was arrested for driving without a license this week. We admire their concerted effort, but when Paris has brushes with the law, you certainly don't want to be the one news source not covering it! Maybe next week, guys!

Britney left rehab yesterday, but for a very good reason. She took some time out of Promises to attend an off-site AA meeting. Looks like Britney's break is treating her well -- we just love seeing a happier, healthier her! Considering how great she looks after a week in rehab, just think what the whole month will be able to do for Brit!

It's been over a month since Lindsay entered her in/outpatient rehab (she's since checked out) and in that time we've had pretty much no juicy gossip about the little lady. Perhaps she's really hung up her partying shoes. But seriously, I think that one Leslie Sloane Zelnick, publicist to the Lohan, needs some props. Either way, Linds was looking like her former, fresh-faced self while hanging out with mom Dina and little brother Cody in LA this week. I must say I'm impressed with Lohan's new image, still tentatively (seeing how long her image remains clean), but impressed nonetheless.

The Beckhams may be the biggest names in England and have Tom and Katie among their closest friends, but when they finally make the move to LA, they'll be hobnobbing with a whole new type of celebrity. Believe it or not, even the rich and famous like Victoria still gets star struck sometimes. Here's more:

"I was at a party the other day when Tom Hanks came bounding over.
"He said, 'I'm so thrilled you and David are coming over. I'm going to get a season ticket to watch LA Galaxy now'.
"All the time he was talking I was just thinking, 'It's Forrest Gump! And he knows who I am!' "
That sounds like how we would feel if we were ever in a conversation with Tom Hanks! We just can't get enough of Victoria these days, and now that her reality show is officially headed to NBC, we can't wait until it starts airing. Hey, maybe we'll even get to see Posh meet some of her big screen idols.

Jessica (and Daisy!) arrived in New York yesterday afternoon, I assume to catch their main squeeze John Mayer's Sold Out (nice) Madison Square Garden show last night. I know I get a little gushy about J-Simp these days, but she's just looking so healthy and youthful and happy, really happy. It warms the heart of my reality TV naive younger self who fell in love with her during season one of The Newlyweds, despite her annoying idiocy. Let's (okay, I will, you do whatever you want) just hope that she continues on this positive life path that happens to coincide with her relationship with Mayer but should not only be attributed to him because I really, really believe* she's grown up on her own, too!

*Yes, I may be delusional.
