Though Lindsay went back to work on I Know Who Killed Me (old pictures, new story), after only a week at Wonderland, starting a new project has proved too much for Linds. Her publicist is now reporting that LL is backing out of a movie she had in the works called A Woman of No Importance, because the starlet needs more time to shop rest. People reports:

"She doesn't want to just yes everyone and compromise herself anymore," says her publicist, Leslie Sloane. "If anything has been learned, it's that what she needs comes first – and right now she needs focus."

Rather than jumping from movie to movie, Lohan plans to take it easy for a few weeks, according to Sloane, who adds: "It's a mature thing to do. ... She's doing this so she can focus on getting better."

Meanwhile, other rumors are surfacing that perhaps Lohan's premature evacuation is a blessing in disguise for the producers of the upcoming film. Though (obviously) adamantly denied by Linds' publicist, a source on the set of I Know Who Killed me has said that she's been "moody and is making everyone miserable around her. She'll be late and sometimes won't come out of her trailer." Trailer Lindsay sounds like a real pain to work with, but I'm just sure that in reality she's nothing but a pleasure to manage. Uh, did that sound convincing enough?

We have not seen Charlize Theron in a while but she has been busy making films as well as producing a pet project called East of Havana which premiered last night in NY. It's a documentary that looks at the Cuban Hip-Hop scene and youth movement. Charlize says that she was inspired by the young people who risked their lives by participating in the film. Here's more:

"I think the younger generation is starting to say, 'You know what, it doesn't work. We're not happy. We want to have freedom of speech. We want to be able to travel,'" she said.

Though "East of Havana" has political overtones, Theron said she didn't set out to make the film with an agenda in mind. She let the political discussion happen organically.

"I find sometimes when you let people speak, when you go into a country like that, naturally you'll get the best insight on the political situation," she said. "Just don't force people to talk about it. We never did that."

Jessica Simpson has apparently quit the road life in favor of grocery shopping. As an aside, what kind of crappy grocery bagger puts one bag on top of all the other ones. Seriously? unless all the bags are full of uncrushables it just seems like an odd call. Riiiiight, moving on. Jessica is so down to earth. I mean, she's loading her own grocery bags (full of air? Okay, now I'm obsessing) into her car.

Meanwhile, John Mayer was recently interviewed by the kid who won I'm With Rolling Stone (also, did they cancel that halfway through the season or what?) and when asked if he's ever purchased a Jessica Simpson album John answered, "I lisen (sic) to most new music released every week." Way to avoid the question, dude.

Fergie helped kick-off the Super Bowl last night with a concert in Miami. Rumors have been flying that she got engaged over the holidays. Turns out Fergie won't be Mrs. Duhamel in the immediate future. In fact, she is denying all the recent crazy rumors about her despite wearing tiaras and fun huge rocks on her fingers. Here's more:

"I've heard that I've been engaged probably about seven times, and pregnant, but I've never been either," she told reporters in Miami on Thursday. "Sorry to disappoint."

She did say Duhamel, 34, will join her for the weekend in South Florida, and they will compete in a celebrity go-cart race on Saturday at the American Airlines Arena. It's a big race for Duhamel, who won last year. "I want to see if I can maybe beat him," she said.

And though Fergie (real name: Stacy Ferguson) will begin touring in May in support of her solo debut, The Dutchess, she said the Black Eyed Peas will at some point get back together.

"It's just a matter of when," she said. "We're all kind of spreading our wings right now, and are doing with solo projects that we've always wanted to do. ... We've been touring together for four years and it's time to take a breath. But we'll definitely reunite."

Nick and Vanessa seem to be happier than ever, but, as usual, the rumors regarding trouble in their smiley paradise circulate around either Vanessa's jealous streak or her insane desire to immediately get married. Ahhh, thank goodness for covert misogyny. Right, so the most recent rumor is that some "Jessica Look-Alike" (read: blonde) slipped Nick her number at a club and Vanessa "started yelling 'We have to talk!' before leaving the club in a huff." And then she refused to get in the cab he hailed for her. Sounds realistic.
