Renée's been getting lots of press for her new movie Miss Potter; she scored a Golden Globe nod and will grace the cover of February's Vogue. She dishes about her intrigue for Beatrix Potter's life, her love for animals, and her desire for adventure. Renée emphasizes how important it is to know who you are and to love yourself. Here's more:
She is grateful that she doesn't see her work as being "contingent on the way people define beauty." And although she knows it is easy for her to say now, she doesn't think that growing older will trouble her, either.
"I don't care. I don't want to spend my life not liking who I am. I want to become more of a person as I get older and not more disapproving of the person that I am."
Is this, I ask, a good moment in her life?
"Oh, yeah! I mean, they're all good. Even when they're bad. I'm perpetually learning."
Sounds like Renée is a wise woman with a good head on her shoulders. It's always nice to see a celebrity who seems down to earth. To see the full article with Renée dressed up as a Victorian lady, just read more
Even though I have to (finally) admit that John Cusack is looking a little more, uh, mature these days, it's still comforting like a warm blanket to see his face at Sundance this year. Lloyd Dobler/Martin Blank/Rob Gordon is at Sundance to promote Grace is Gone, a film in which he is none of those previously mentioned characters, but I like to think he keeps a little piece of each of them with him at all times (like he's secretly an assassin who can make an overly-examined mix tape and will begrudgingly accept a pen in exchange for his heart).
Plus, I totally suspect Jeremy Piven is really the jerky party in their recent man feud, but maybe I'm biased (and think Piven, though great on Entourage, should realize that he's not actually Ari Gold).

Salma was ecstatic yesterday when she read her best friend's name during the Oscar nomination announcements. Penelope Cruz scored a best actress nom for her work in Volver. She was just as thrilled and sees it as a huge step for the Latino community which scored 16 nominations. She said, "It has been a long time coming, especially since millions of people speak Spanish as their main language in this country... It's great that it's finally being reflected in movies."
We're excited for the Oscars also and since we had so much fun with the ballots for the Golden Globes, we're doing it again with bigger and better prizes TBA. Click here to fill out our Oscar ballot now.
There's no doubt that supermodel Gisele Bunchen is a natural beauty. Yes, she is one of the lucky ones, which is why it's a little hard to listen to her weigh in (punny!) on the anorexia debate raging in the fashion world. Some fashion weeks have already started banning women deemed "too thin" from participating in runway shows and in Brazil alone four young models died of complications from anorexia last month. In an interview while down in Rio for their fashion week, Gisele said that the fashion industry isn't responsible for eating disorders. Instead, she thinks a lack of strong parental support is to blame. Here's more:
"I never suffered this problem because I had a very strong family base," the supermodel told the local Globo newspaper on Friday. "The parents are responsible, not fashion."
"Everybody knows the standard for models is to be thin," Bundchen said. "But you can't generalize and say that all models are anorexic."
While generalizations are never the answer, it seems slightly irresponsible for Gisele to completely pardon the fashion industry. It's impossible to deny that these pressures do exist and often fester in the heads of young women, even those who are naturally thin, forcing them to want to be much thinner, supportive family or not. Well, that got really heavy really quick.

Tara isn't just at Sundance to party, she's also there to support her latest movie. It's called If I Had Known I Was a Genius but with that title we probably didn't have to tell you that she's not one of the main roles. The film is about a teenager with a high IQ who decides to become an actor. Tara continues to look made over and put together but she clearly hasn't dropped her partying ways. We are still getting over her public dry humpfest from the other night.

Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
