Bono is becoming just as famous as a philanthropist as he is as a rock star. Not only is he always trying new and innovative ways to adapt with the changing times (like debuting a new song and video on YouTube), but he is endlessly doing good deeds around the world. As a result he has been awarded an honorary knighthood from the Queen of England. Check out the super cool video below and here's more:

“Her Majesty The Queen has appointed Bono to be an honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in recognition of his services to the music industry and for his humanitarian work,” the embassy said in a statement.

Fellow Irish rocker Bob Geldof, also a high-profile rights campaigner, received the same award in 1986. Honorary knighthoods are awarded to non-British nationals.

A statement on the U2 Web site said Bono was “very flattered to be honored, particularly if the honor ... opens doors for his long standing campaigning work against extreme poverty in Africa.”

Something tells us this is just the tip of the iceberg. Who knows what kinds of things he'll accomplish in the year to come.

Lindsay may be attending AA, but that didn't stop her from missing out on partying for Christmas Eve. LL and Brittny Gastineau were spotted at Lotus in NYC on Sunday night, but supposedly Lindsay stayed away from the alcohol. Star reports:

"They arrived in a group of about five or six people," a source tells Star. "They were sent a round of watermelon martini shots, and they were also comped a bottle of vodka. But Lindsay didn't drink." The source adds that Lindsay told a club staffer, that "she was with her family earlier for Christmas eve and was catching up with her New York friends.

Lindsay's mom and three siblings live in Merrick, N.Y., about an hour east of NYC. She was really sweet to the staff. Lindsay was just watching the crowd, sitting on the banquet, listening to music. She mostly sat watching everyone, while her friends seemed to have a good time." Lindsay, who wore a light blue blazer and multi-colored scarf, left with her entourage at 3 a.m.

There's nothing like a little Wentworth to get us through the slow news week. The actor headed to Australia to check a bunch of things off his list... visit his sister, promote Prison Break and check out a cool spot. We're happy to see Wentworth anywhere he wants to visit! Here's more:

"I thought I'd kill three birds with one stone and get down to Australia.

"I can spend some time with loved ones over the holidays, visit a place I've always wanted to visit and do a little press for the show."

Miller's sister, Leigh, is living in Melbourne for a year.

"My sister just came back from Uluru with tales of kangaroos and the beauty of the area and she has a number of other day trips planned," Miller said.

"She and her friends have been very good about organising road trips and helping me explore what Australia has to offer.

"Half of my fascination with Australia is it seems to have the largest concentration of deadly creatures in and out of the water."

Heidi and Seal took some time out on Christmas Eve to take baby Johan Samuel for a walk in downtown Aspen. Daddy Seal obviously doesn't want to miss a moment of Johan's first Christmas. He has the camera around his neck and ready to go! Heidi looks fantastic, as always. She's got to be the only woman in the world who can still look stylish in a knit cap with a pom pom on top!

Kate and Ryder went to meet a girlfriend for lunch. Ryder is showing off his new 'do but he still gets shy. As for Kate, well, it's been a big year for her but she's still got her priorities straight. Her number one priority is Ryder and her family. Then comes acting. As for her roles, well she seems perfectly happy playing the romantic lead in a comedy and she says she won't play something a little racier just to do something different. Here's more:

Kate, 27, told Cosmopolitan magazine: "When you're younger, you play people figuring out who they are - not that dimensional, unless you're playing a drug addict or a hooker. But I'm not really interested in playing a hooker. The hooker with the heart of gold, no thanks!"

It just wouldn't be right to end the year without yet another Kate Moss and Pete Doherty post. The on and off again couple have been a mystery since his latest scandal and her being spotted without her engagement ring. However the latest is that the couple will be married this holiday week in a civil ceremony in London with a celebration to follow in mid-January in Ibiza. Here's more:

Doherty, 27, has invited members of his band, Babyshambles, to witness the ceremony at Fulham Register Office - chosen as the couple's venue because of its proximity to the home ground of the singer's favourite football team, Queens Park Rangers.

One source said: "Both Kate and Pete have invited close friends and family to meet them there on Friday.

"There's been a bit of a tussle over the guest list, which is small because Kate is concerned that some of Pete's hangers-on are bad news, but he's determined to have his mates there."

An extended group of friends and family have also been asked to fly to Ibiza for a lavish celebration of the marriage on January 18.

One friend close to both said: "Kate and Pete will travel out to the island a couple of days ahead of the party, in time for her 33rd birthday on January 16.

As much as I don't want Kate to marry this guy, I am over writing about their wedding rumors so I kind of hope they just do it already. Besides who knows, maybe marriage will help keep Pete out of trouble. Besides, I want to see Kate as a bride already.
