Last night was the Loreal Paris AFI Awards in Melbourne. The AFIs are the Australian Film and TV industry's most prestigious awards ceremony. Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger and even Daniel Radcliffe were on hand to present. It's so weird to see Daniel Potter out of Hogwarts! He's such a cutie. And Heath looks like he has a new pal in Abbie Cornish, whose claim to fame so far is as Ryan Phillippe's other woman. She and Heath starred as lovers together in the movie Candy, and it looks like she's still sweet on him. Watch out Michelle!

You aren't experiencing deja vu. If you feel like you've seen this premiere before, it's because you have. It had its US premiere last month in NY. But this week it premiered overseas in France. Meanwhile the film sits comfortably at number three at the box office. In the film Denzel travels back in time to investigate an explosion, but the actor says director Tony Scott based the film on reality. Here's more:

He said he didn't want to make a science fiction movie, but a science fact movie," Washington told The Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen. "He did a lot of research about surveillance and what they are capable of and found out a lot of information about the whole investigation in London and those bombings and how they track all that stuff down. So the film was steeped in that reality."
[Denzel's character] travels back in time to save the woman and ends up falling in love with her.
"I fall in love with a dead woman," Washington said. "That's passion. That's love. That's commitment."
By the looks of Paula Patton who plays his love interest, we don't blame him. For more pics including Denzel, Paula, Tony Scott, and Jerry Bruckheimer just read more
Renee looked cool and casual at the Tribeca Gallery this week. She was in NYC to promote her new movie Miss Potter. She even hosted the Miss Potter Tea Party and Beatrix Potter Gallery launch. While busy promoting her new film Renee still had time to address the romance rumors. Since splitting from Kenny Chesney she has been linked to Damien Rice, but insists he is just a friend. She said, "I like Damien so much. He's one of my favourite singers, such a neat guy. "But he is not my boyfriend."

Lost is on hiatus but it's a good thing because it gives Matthew Fox time to promote his new film, We Are Marshall. Matthew headed up to Canada to appear on MuchMusic. He spoke about the film which is a true story based on the devastating loss of 75 members of a football team killed in a plane crash in the 70s. Matthew McConaughey stars as a young coach who pushes to rebuild the team and help the community to heal. Fox plays his assistant coach. We love the idea of two sexy Matthews on the big screen. We Are Marshall will be in theaters December 22nd.

Despite being one of the busiest ladies in show business, Gwen still brings along Kingston just about everywhere she goes. At the same time she gets tons of stuff done. She's busy creating a new fragrance for her fashion line LAMB, and she just released The Sweet Escape earlier this week. On top of that she manged to collaborate with Keane star Tim Rice-Oxley on the song Early Winter for her album, which she says is amazing. Here's more

The sometime No Doubt singer describes the finished track as "one of the most beautiful songs ever," insisting she believes Rice-Oxley is "Superman-talented."
She explained: "I wanted a ballad. I wanted to write 'Eyes Without A Face' or 'Killing Me Softly' or 'Time After Time,' and he was like, 'OK, Cyndi Lauper, got it,' like he was taking my order."
But Gwen was delighted with the result, telling MTV: "It was so beautiful and addictive. I didn't really attack it because it was kind of done, lyrics and everything. It's just like one of the most beautiful songs ever. I love it."
