Hilary Duff is going undercover in her new perfume ad. The ad is great since it's like watching a music video but we wish she would just appear as the beautiful long-haired brunette girl instead of going for the short black wig look. We kinda don't get it - you're much sexier the way you are Hil. Overall, at least it's better than those perfume commercials with puppies and fields of flowers.

J Lo looked absolutely stunning last night at the Free Clinic Annual Dinner Gala honoring Brad Grey at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Jennifer made Harper's Bazaar's best dressed this year, but it turns out she's not so in to dressing up for these events anymore, and is trying to go for a more relaxed look these days. The Waiting for Tonight singer has deliberately toned down her look from the days where she appeared in slashed-down-to-her-navel dresses and now prefers "clothes that are closed up to the neck with bows." Lopez, who designs her own fashion range called Sweetface insists she is "not into 'sexy, sexy,'" and also claims she's not into attending events just to show off her great sense of style. She adds, "That going-out-and-being-glam thing gets old fast. People keep saying to me, 'You're not out there anymore.' "And I say, 'That's because I don't want to be!'"

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer have been playing the denial game. She even fired her publicist after US and People cover stories talked about them being an item, but now it's looking like the two really are dating (again?). They apparently had a not so secret rendezvous at the Four Seasons, and the two were spotted having a flirtatious lunch together in Malibu at Paradise Cove Beach Café last week. He must really like her since he is about to be followed everywhere. US Weekly reports:

“She didn’t eat much,” a witness says. “She drank double vodka cranberries. When they got up, Jessica was rubbing his back. You could definitely tell they were on a date.” Mayer left a $40 tip on the $100 bill.

“She’s taking her time with it,” a Simpson pal says.

Adds a Mayer source, “It’s a flirtation. I wouldn’t call it full-on dating, but there is a fondness. He doesn’t like the attention, but he likes her. He wants to avoid the public scrutiny of last time.”

We bet John will update his blog soon to let us know how he feels about being caught with Jessica. We wish him the best of luck since he knows how hard it will be to date such a tabloid favorite. As for Jess, we are hoping she finds love again since it must be hard to see Nick so happy. Of course all this could be just Pimp Daddy Simpson's plan to distract us from the fact that it's the anniversary of her split from Nick.

Denzel, Jada, and Christina Ricci all experienced Deja Vu last night at the NYC premiere. In the sci-fi thriller, Denzel plays an ATF agent who is guided by deju vu to discover a crime, which leads him to travel back in time to try and prevent it. The film also stars Val Kilmer and Elle Fanning (Dakota's little sister). Denzel is looking gorgeous as always. And Jada hardly looks like she's suffering from jetlag, you never would know by the looks of her that she was in Italy only the day before. The film opens tomorrow, November 22nd.

The legendary Robert Altman, probably best known for MASH, Nashville and The Player has died. The cause of the 81 year-old director's death has not yet been disclosed. Hollywood will not be the same without this icon, he will be greatly missed.

Nicole Richie is making some big changes in her life. After more than 2 years together, Nicole has fired her stylist Rachel Zoe. Nicole and Rachel are close friends, and Nicole has looked beautiful at many various events over the years but it was time for a change. Nic said she, “wanted to surround herself with positive people and influences." Sounds like she really is into making her life a more healthier one. US Weekly reports:

Apparently that didn’t include the controversial fashionista, 35, who has long been accused of promoting unhealthy body images (her roster of stick-thin clients includes Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan, both 20).

“Nicole didn’t trust Rachel anymore,” a Richie pal says of the firing. “Zoe didn’t take the news well.”

In her place, Richie has hired Cristina Ehrlich – who has dressed Jessica Biel and Penelope Cruz – to pick an outfit for the November 21 American Music Awards, where the actress has been asked to introduce a performance by dad Lionel Richie.
