It's a sad week of breakups - first Reese and Ryan, and now TMZ is reporting that Chris Rock is divorcing his wife of almost 10 years. And just like Reese, Chris has hired a high power attorney to represent him. Rock's people have no comment at this time. We hope these 2 can keep it civil for their 2 kids, 4-year-old Lola and 2-year-old Zahra.
Kevin doesn't want to be known as a dead beat dad. He wants to prove to us that he works hard and wants to support his many kids instead of living off his wife's fortune. Kevin has been posing for a clothing line, releasing his debut album and is now planning to write a book about his life. He said, "The book is definite. It will be a biography of my life until I met my wife, so people will better understand who I am." However he admits he won't be tackling the project on his own: "I haven't done it yet. You know, I'll get a ghostwriter in there." We had a feeling he'd have a ghostwriter.

The BAFTA/LA Cunard awards are quite popular with the ladies. Halle stood out in her hot pink dress while Rachel Weisz, Kate Walsh and Robin Wright Penn also got all dolled up for the big event last night in L.A. The big winner of the evening was Clint Eastwood who took home BAFTA's Stanley Kubrick Brittania Award for Excellence in Film. It honors individuals who have dedicated their lives to advancing the entertainment arts. I wonder if he will put this next to his Oscars?
Halle, Robin, and Dustin Hoffman all presented, while Rachel Weisz received an award for Artist of the Year. For more pics of the event, just read more
Last night AFI presented a tribute to Penelope Cruz for her latest film, Volver. She has walked the red carpet 101 times for this film but it paid off. Penelope is getting serious recognition for the role. Rumor is she may get an Oscar nom for this one. Eva Mendes, Eve, and BFF Salma Hayek all came to see the film and cheer on their pal Penelope. Here's more about the film:
The movie represents both a terrific coming of age and a chance to strut her stuff as a melodramatic diva and an earthy comedian. At 32 years of age, the actress makes a vibrant Raimunda, single mother to a teenage daughter, surviving on her own (with help from a bevy of fellow female hysterics and a ghostly mother) while stuffing a corpse into a freezer and hoarding the kinds of family secrets no Almodóvar movie can be without.
Cruz identifies very strongly with Raimunda. “She survived a lot of horrible things that have made her stronger, and she still has hope,” she says. “What I love about her is that she refused to become a victim.” Like her character, Cruz describes herself as “extremely strong for some things, extremely sensitive for others,” and, looking at that face, at once tentative, headstrong and vulnerable, one doesn’t doubt her.

Jenna Dewan walked down the street in Beverly Hills looking extremely chic and poised. Her structured white blazer framed her body perfectly, and paired well over her draped fringe Haute Hippie halter which she wore with denim leggings and over-the-knee brown boots.
