Mel Gibson clearly looks uncomfortable while being interviewed by Diane Sawyer. However, he has found a silver lining to his belligerent tequila-fueled night of drunk driving, anti-Semitic and sexist slurs. The event led him to condemn his own behavior as disgusting and despicable and he now has come to view it as "kind of a blessing." On yesterday's edition of GMA, Mel told Diane Sawyer that in order to quit drinking he needed "a public humiliation on a global scale." Here's more:
"Sometimes you need a cold bucket of water in the face to sort of snap to, because you're dealing with a sort of malady of the soul, an obsession of the mind and a physical allergy,"
Gibson also confessed to trying to spruce himself up for his mug shot in the interest of vanity--hence his slicked-back hair in the photo. "I did my best with a finger combing in the water fountain, to sort of like splash a little water on my face, to not take one of those hideous mug shots, because I knew it would be around," he said.
Though Gibson agrees that his remarks at the time of his arrest were anti-Semitic, he has denied that they reflect his actual beliefs."It sounds horrible, and I'm ashamed of that. That came out of my mouth. And I'm not that. That's not who I am, you know," he said.
The actor-producer said he thought he would be apologizing for his actions for his "whole life." "I've apologized more than anyone I know, so it's getting old," he told Sawyer.
Yeah, we're getting tired of it too, Mel. Check out how Mel tries to shrug and squirm his way through the GMA interview in the clip below.

I guess Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson are no longer on friendly terms. I was wondering how Chris would take her flip-flop back to Owen, and according to friends he's not taking it well. In fact, he's grown "increasingly irate." Here's more:
“Chris was feeling good [about their relationship],” after a late August conversation between the couple, a source told the tab. “Then after the split, he hears all this stuff about his wife and this actor. There’s no doubt he’s angry.”
The growing acrimony dismays the couple’s friends. “It’s all pretty sad,” notes the source. “For a long time, their friends looked up to them as the ideal couple. When it was good, it was really good — and since it’s turning bad, it’s turning really bad!”
It's hard to blame the guy for being upset. The two looked as if they were headed for a reconciliation and then Kate jetted off to Hawaii to be with Owen. I'm sure that didn't go over well. Check out Chris in the neighborhood and talking to a police officer.
Tara Reid has had a lot to say lately. Besides revealing the intimate details of her botched boob job, she also has been comparing herself to Lindsay Lohan and thinks that the press should leave LL alone. She said, "Lindsay reminds me of a younger version of me. But you can't take away that the girl is a good actress. So she's going through a point in her life. I grew up. Leave her alone. If Lindsay can get a chance, then I deserve a chance too."
I don't know about you guys, but I don't really see the comparison. Hopefully LL won't wait until her thirties to wise up and stop partying, but I guess that remains to be seen. To see how to get LL's all black rocker look that's so hot lately, just click here. To see more pics of LL, read more
Nick Lachey made an appearance on The Late Show last night. It's got to be hard on him. No matter where he goes people are always asking about Jessica. And Letterman was no exception. He brought her up almost immediately, and even questioned whether Newlyweds contributed to their divorce. Here's more:
David Letterman: You haven’t been here in quite a long time.
Nick Lachey: It has been a long time.
DL: You were here with your then wife, the lovely Jessica [Simpson].
NL: Yes indeed.
DL: You were doing a show that was on MTV about being a newlywed at the time and, I don’t want to make you feel, maybe you don’t feel bad, I
can’t tell. But I would think that doing a show like that would maybe actually make the marriage stronger.
NL: Yeah. About that. [Audience laughs] Not so much. I don’t think so...It was among the dumber ideas I think I’ve ever seen executed in history.
DL: But at the time, there was every reason to do that show. People liked it.
NL: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And for a while, I think we actually enjoyed doing the show as well. It was just so invasive that it became a problem.
DL: Do you think that was why the marriage broke up?
NL: You know that’s one of those things where I think until you get enough hindsight and enough clarity and perspective, I don’t think you can really know what happened. But, I certainly think it was probably a factor.
Like I said, it's got to be tough. But Nick seems to have come out okay on the other side (and more famous as well). To check out the rest of the interview just read more
We would never call cute little Kirsten a curvy girl, so it's a bit surprising to hear that she said she loves her curves. Wonder what she thinks super skinny looks like? The girl is tiny here showing off her little body in her skinny jeans. At least she has the right goal in mind. She said, “I eat healthily. I do Pilates and my mom has a cross-training machine, which I use, but I don’t work out regularly. I like having a few curves. I like being sexy, not sleazy.”

In this week's Gossip Girl, Blair Waldorf demonstrates that there's nothing like a red sparkly dress to make you stand out at a party. Although her exact Marchesa dress isn't available online, this one is quite similar.
